Amazing Mexican food in the most unexpected place!
Where you’d expect to find huckleberries, and maybe a burger or two—you’ll stumble across some of the most flavorful, authentic Mexican food around. It’s unexpected, unforgettable, and absolutely worth going out of your way for.
From the very first bite, you’ll know this place is the real deal. The tortillas are fresh and soft, the meats are perfectly seasoned and tender, and the salsas have that homemade kick you only get when someone’s been doing it right for generations. It’s not “good for Montana” Mexican food—it’s just damn good Mexican food, period.
Order anything and everything—the menu is packed with standout dishes. Tacos, enchiladas, tamales, carne asada—every single item we tried was bursting with flavor and made with care. Even the sides were memorable (don’t skip the beans or rice—seriously).
Lakeside might be the last place you’d expect to find food this authentic, but once you try it, you’ll be hooked. Whether you’re just passing through or live nearby, this spot is a must-visit. Just trust me—and go...
Read moreOpening day at Mother Chorizos in Lakeside, MT! Looks like a successful opening day/evening for Christian and crew at Lakeside's only Mexican food restaurant! I invited my friend and brought along my mom for a relaxing evening after work and great food! Street Tacos, baja taco, cilantro and lime rice, refried beans, chips n salsa and horchata! My eyes were too big for my belly! But who dosen't like leftovers?!? Glad we have a sit down Mexican food restaurant in town, now. Mother Chorizos is no stranger to Lakeside. Their food truck used to be parked at the north end of hwy 93, in the Glacier bank parking lot a few years ago, and most recently at Spinnakers on Thursday night's. Now welcome them to their brick and mortar restaurant at the old homestead cafe location. Stop in and see their menu, and order some street Tacos, nachos, or their burritos! You won't be disappointed and you won't be leaving hungry! I highly recommend...

It looks like someone had a great idea to open a restaurant and bar 25 years ago and thought they'd save money by throwing in furniture and appliances from the early-mid 90's and it's never changed. It also looks like one employee begrudgingly cleans both establishments once a month or so. Fortunately, no one greeted us walking in to either establishment so turning on our heels, exiting, and driving down the road was...
