Before I get into it, I just want say that my review is intended to be both humorous and honest so don't get all puffy and bloaty (that's humor.) This is my second visit here and it's in a beautiful spot on Flathead Lake, you can't beat the view. I don't even want to think about how much their rent is - yikes! It's a cute local business and have a small assortment of unique merchandise for sale. They also have a nice outdoor seating area (indoors as well.) Their menu is small which I don't mind because it means they can focus on making everything better instead of having to prepare 4,281 different dishes that would probably be thrown together with less quality ingredients. Both times the food was very good. Today's soup was particularly delicious; creamy sweet potato. They spelled it wrong which normally sets me off but the taste of this little cup of heaven made up for their lack of English skills. I wish I had ordered a bowl instead of a cup. I might have to go back for another one and threaten the chef for the recipe. The prices are high and that's a harsh fact everywhere these days. As I said, they're a local business which means they can't order in bulk like Costco. But if you just want to fill your gut without regard for your health, then by all means have a Costco hot dog. Finally the service: it wasn't great today. I got my order as expected but the woman up front didn't seem to like her job much; which honestly I can appreciate that. People can be awful and those in food-service or any customer-service, deserve a medal. I tipped, but not as much as I would have if she had at least smiled. Added observance: the stickers displayed on the kitchen's exhaust fan are inappropriate and made me cringe a little. I'm not a prude by any means but there's certain things you just don't display for all to see - especially in family establishments. The upshot is that I'll definitely go back and I do recommend them. Just don't expect...
Read moreFull espresso bar and all the baked goods looked amazing. We shared a giant cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting. YUM
I got the special of the day: Turkey, bacon & avacado sandwich, add Havarti cheese. Turned out they were out of BREAD. What?! It was after 2pm on a Tuesday, so I guess they had been really busy....? So they made it a wrap. It came with a pickle and potato chips. It was really tasty. Had a yummy aioli sauce on it and amazing local thick bacon.
NOT impressed with the customer service of the girl at the counter. (late 20's blondish? Had cat ears on for Halloween...) Not friendly, didn't know what Havarti was, and had to ask her to warm up the cinnamon roll; for which she says, "it's fresh" and then begrudgingly took it to the microwave... uh,, ok well it's NOT warm, so anyway....
Would definitely go back for the yummy food though! Food gets a five, SHE gets a 2 so I gave it...
Read moreI had a bad experience here the one time we tried this place three years ago as I had to wait about 35 - 40 minutes for the barista to make an almond milk latte I ordered for my wife. While I was waiting they took an order over the phone with a local, he came in to pick it up, and left all while I was standing there waiting. We were trying to get up to Blacktail to take the kids skiing and my wife was at the local grocery store waiting for me to pick her up. Finally after I asked if my latte was ready they made it without any sort of apology for the delay. I left an initial review that was less than glowing and the owner contacted me via email to apologize and offered to refund my coffee and/or make it right next time I stop by with coffee on the house. I wasn't too concerned about them refunding the latte I ordered but will give them another...
