I thought it was great when DG started selling limited amounts of alcohol & beer... Until it turns out that on the way home from work or on the weekends, it is impossible to make such a purchase because of poor scheduling by store and regional management! Way more often than not, when I stop in to either of the 2 local DG locations onmy way home, there is not a manager or assistant working with a liquor license so adults can buy adult beverages after a hard day, or long weekend. When I stop for an adult beverage(s), I also end up buying $40 - $50 in additional items. I refuse to do it any longer. I will be making these purchases elsewhere. It seems like DG wants to be more like a Family Dollar than a DG. Today I stopped in at one of the stores I mentioned, and spoke to the manager out front as I walked in to buy an adult beverage ($8-ish) and also got $38.15 in other items that I hadn't planned on getting. But after spending 10 minutes in line, I was told by the cashier, "You're going to hate me, but I cannot ring your alcohol because there is no management in bldg with a liquor licence (the manager that I JUST saw at the front has that licence). Read moreI never really have had a bad experience at this store, except for today. Usually the employees are very polite and helpful. Today not so much. I came to pick up a few things for around the house. While being checked out the girl seemed annoyed, scoffing and aggressively bagging my items. One item didn't scan right away which seemed to annoy her even more. (You'd think she'd have been less upset seeing as how when I came in she was out front on her smoke break, watching the line build up inside). Then before I even grab my bags to leave she says to the person standing behind me "sorry for the wait" in a rude tone that seemed like I was such an inconvenience to her and everyone behind me. Read moreI absolutely loved when they updated the store and added more items and also put in two self checkouts. The reason I loved the self check out is not only because I can check out by myself but it’s because no one is ever at the register ever. I have waited probably a good 15 minutes with five other people behind me while I’m pushing the call button for help. I was actually able to go and make a quick trip with self checkout and now my Quick trip ends up being a half hour or longer because of your store.
