Hannaford — Local services in Kennebunk

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this store last night while using the self-checkout registers. My coffee spilled in my bag, creating a mess, and I asked the attendant in the self-checkout area for help. He simply directed me to the ladies' room to use the sink and grab paper towels.

As I walked back and forth from the bathroom to my register, cleaning up the mess on the floor, he stood by and watched. Other customers had to step around the spill to avoid slipping, yet he made no effort to assist or call someone with a mop to expedite the cleanup. Instead, he focused on helping other women at nearby self-checkout registers with their scanning and payment—without them even asking for help.

I felt completely unsupported and appalled by his lack of initiative and disregard for my struggle. Managing my groceries while cleaning up the spill was a hassle, and his behavior showed a shocking lack of care or professionalism. I regret not saying something to him at the moment, but I was so frustrated and eager to leave.

Hannaford, please train your staff to prioritize customer safety and provide better support when situations...

Dashed in to redeem a rain check for scallops (typically polite & helpful staff).. UNTIL they wouldn’t honor it. I was told to return to the Wells location! The meat manager Bill White was called & he could not have been NASTIER 😡 & exacerbated the situation (over a legitimate rain check???!!) & snatched it out of my hand suggesting I shop elsewhere & threatening a trespass order because I commented on his wild eyed anger.. Convenient. I asked for town bags. Kid could not remember to add town bags to my order, had to check out twice. I had only 4 other items, its not that hard. I do not like the arrangement of the new store. Single entrance/exit door is awkward and just makes absolutely no sense. The amount of wall space gained in produce is not worthwhile at all. All changes are, well, bad. Feels worse than WM. Update. Getting used to changes. Single door is still silly. 2 to get in and out of cart area, narrowing to 1 to enter/exit store.
