Jia Mei Le Wah Chinese Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Kennebunk

First I want to say there should be an option for 0 ⭐️’s I would not give this place a star at all! Been going to the WA for years was there to eat probly a year or more ago food was ok. Didn’t have anything to complain about. Tonight our food came out my boyfriends egg foo young(he had last time) a plate with white rice crab Rangoon and two egg rolls. I ordered a plate with sweet and sour chicken and bbq pork and pork fried rice did not come out at this time. I reminded the waitress of the other plate we ordered. All of our food was cold,greasy.not edible! Down right disgusting 🤮 his egg foo young was full of onions very bad no good the white rice was dried out clumps nasty then five to 10 mins later our other plate came this food was hot just made obviously forgot to be ordered or made to come out with our first plates. We told the waitress why we weren’t eating our food and how awful it was we told her we just wanted our bill and we wer all set.Waitress went to get the owner when we never asked her to. Never said we wouldn’t pay. Said we’d take our bill and we wer all set with all intentions on just never going back there again. We just wanted to pay our bill and leave.Then this waitress acctually asked us if we wanted boxes! Lol she was clearly being rude and condescending. Worst service! My boyfriend and I both used the bathroom while we wer there and talked after we left. Both bathrooms wer so filthy worse’s then gas station bathrooms I’ve seen. Disgusting Which is a shame because when We and his wife wer running that place she cooked the best food and it was a great place. We will never be eating...

Cold, old food, and yelled at by the manager when calling to let them know. Never coming back.

I’ve been ordering from Jia Mei Le Wah for over a year now, often once a week, and always takeout. The food has been incredible every single time, the best in the area. However, after placing an order and returning home with it tonight, the entire order was as cold as leftovers; with the sauce congealed and partially frozen in places on the general tso chicken. I called the restaurant to let them know everything was that cold, and was shouted over and yelled at by the manager before I could get half a sentence out; telling me that “it’s winter, it’s cold out, that’s normal, I don’t know what you want from me” & “if you order takeout, that’s you risk”. I’m less than a 10min drive away and I had to wait in the restaurant for the order to be ready, so it did not sit around idly for even a minute to get it as takeout.

After having to repeatedly ask the manager to let me speak to explain what was wrong with the order, instead of getting shouted at and shouted over, I was again spoken over to be informed that if I wanted to box everything back up and bring it to her for proof then a new meal could be provided. I didn’t even want, nor ask for anything…I’m definitely not going to be called a liar and shouted at when I called calmly to let them know, in case something was wrong in the kitchen. One bad meal doesn’t constitute a 1 star review, but being treated like this does. I’m done...

I don’t normally write negative reviews; however, I’m making an exception. I live in Kennebunk, so I was excited to try our local Chinese restaurant which people seem to like. I ordered four meals for two people, so we could try a variety of dishes. Everything I ordered is listed as spicy on their menu, because we like spicy food. It was NOT spicy at all. Nothing was spicy! I don’t think they even used black pepper in the food! It was terribly bland, plus overcooked to boot. When I called to complain (it was so bad I threw it all out -$60 worth of food), I was told next time to specify I wanted it spicy. It’s all listed as spicy on their menu!! There won’t be a next time. Don’t waste your money...
