Kindred Kitties stole my cat.
In 2010, I lived in Pell Lake and there were numerous stray cats. We took one in the was less farrel and called her Moo. She was white with black spots like a cow. We could tell she had had kittens but never found any of them. Almost a week later, Moo darted across the property straight towards a black and white baby. We had found one of the kittens!
The baby was in bad shape. Its eye was severely infected. Our neighbor said kindred kittens was going to come and pick up the stray cats the following morning and they let them know about the baby. Because the kitten was young, we offered to let Moo go with for as long as they needed her with the promise of her return. They took us up on the offer and even offered to get her fixed for free. We received an update that they had to remove the baby's eye and it was being adopted. However, Moo was not returned. After a week or so, we called. Turned out they adopted out our cat by mistake to a woman in Twin Lakes. They also renamed her Celine. They located and returned her after apologizing. Some thing was different with Moo. She could no longer keep food down. She kept vomiting and at one point a bunch of worms came up with her food. We called Kindred Kitties just to let them know because this was a new issue after getting her back. We were headed out of town the following morning and had an appointment set to take the cat in the morning after that as it was late in the day and that was the soonest appointment we could get. When we got home, our cat was gone. We called Kindred Kitties and they said they came to pick her up. She had been inside our apartment. We left the door open so our neighbor could wash their laundry. They had simply let themselves in and took our car. They said they would return her after being treated. Confused, I let it go. However, My cat was never returned. When we called again, they stated they gave her back to the woman in Twin Lakes claiming they thought we surrendered her. I hung up with them as I was livid at this point and wanted help. We called the police and they asked for proof the cat was ours. I gladly handed them the paperwork kindred kitties had given us from her surgery. The vet records from her being fixed should have said her name was Moo. However, since they messed up the first time they put her under the name kindred kitties. Since we never were able to bring her to the vet before they took her, we had no other documentation. The police knew we were telling the truth as we showed them multiple photos of our cat and all her belongings. They wrote a report about it but apologized profusely because they could do nothing to return our cat.
Everytime I have posted about this on their facebook page, they delete my reviews and restrict my ability to comment. I have a police report to prove what they did and luckily Google cannot be censored.
The best part, they didnt take the stray cats. Two other cats had kittens. They basically took the kittens and left all 6 strays. Only 2 of the strays were farrel and could not be touched. All had significant...
Read moreI filled out an application and was approved to adopt a cat from Kindred Kitties. I was interested in a particular cat that I fell in love with there. When the woman that approves applications ( I assume) called me about the cat, I was told that I if I wanted to adopt the one I liked, I would have to adopt his friend also, as they were close. I had no interest in the cat that she was talking about and said no. At that point, she became very incensed that I did not like the other cat and told me if I would not take him, I could not adopt the cat that I wanted. She came close to actually trying to bully me into taking both and finally said she would not let me adopt the cat without the other...and hung up on me. I was amazed. So, instead of giving an excellent home to a rescue, I took the money that I had planned to donate when I adopted and purchased a kitten. In retrospect, Kindred Kitties did me a great favor as I am now the proud owner of the sweetest youngster you've ever seen..and gorgeous on top of it. And...as a side note: I'm sad to say that the cat I wanted to adopt so badly is still sitting at Kindred Kitties, without a forever home yet. The other that she tried to push on me, apparently was adopted, leaving his...
Read moreI adopted my cat from here, and I think it is a great local shelter. Since there are so many cats that need good homes, a large portion of cats are in foster homes. The description for these cats can be found online and you can arrange a time with the foster parent to meet with the kitty you're interested in. I think they take great care of their cats. They make sure to spay and neuter their cats. They also make sure that they get the medical attention that they need. As part of the adoption process they gave me all of the medical papers regarding my kitty so that I would be sure to remember when she needed her booster shots. Their adoption process is very thorough in order to make sure that you will be a responsible pet owner. Some of the questions they asked were "What will you do if your significant other is allergic?" or "What will you do if you move to a new location that doesn't allow cats?". They will also follow up with you after the adoption to see how things are going. The kitty that I adopted here has been a wonderful addition to my little family, and has made her way into my heart. If I was looking to adopt again, I would definitely...
