Updated Review - 8/5/23: We love La Fogata. You can probably tell by how many reviews I have written. We went with some friends of ours an had a few different meals. Of course, I had my normal Camarones Enchiladas…. And my wife had Chicken Enchiladas. We had Queso Blanco and Tomatillos salsa. Everything was delicious! The service was fast, friendly, and helpful! I will always recommend La Fogata Mexican Grill! —————————————————————————— Updated Review - 6/28/23: Once again... we loved our food from La Fogata. They never let us down. It is always delicious! Updated Review - 3/24/23: We were getting ready for our granddaughter's first birthday party and didn't feel like cooking. So... we called La Fogata and placed an order to go. Simple, easy, and fast. Updated Review - 10/17/22: Always one of our favorites. I pass La Fogata every day to and from work. Sometimes I will order food to go and pick it up on the way home. It is super easy to order online. Tonight I did just that. It was ready when I walked in the front door…. Service with a smile…. And a thank you! As always, the food was delicious tonight. La Fogata is highly recommended! ———————————————————————— Original Review: One of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Kenosha. We have been going there since they opened. I am a creature of habit and almost always get the same thing…. Shrimp Enchiladas with green sauce. My wife normally gets the Chicken Enchiladas. This time she got it with no sauce or cheese. We always get lots of tomatillos! I could eat that all night! The service is always friendly and fast…. and the restaurant is super clean. Extra parking is across the street. I highly recommend La Fogata...
Read moreWell where can I start? I wish I could give him five stars but I can't. I got to be honest, every single person that comes out of this place comes out with a to-go box. Now I understand why why I was waiting to come inside and eat. I was wondering why everybody comes out with a to-go box now. I know food needs a lot of flavor. Everything needs salt and flavor. We started with the guacamole the mango one and I was hoping it had good flavor since it was mango but I was wrong. No salt, no lime, no flavor. I ordered some flautas. Same thing, no flavor. I requested to have my Margarita remade because it was so pale when it was supposed to be red cuz it was strawberry. The waitress took it back to the bartender and instead of making a new one she decided to dump some out and add puree wow amazed My husband order a mango. Margarita, it had color. Really nice Rim but unfortunately no mango flavor straight up tequila which is good. Don't get me wrong but come on now. We ended up ordering a lot of food but got out. Really disappointed. The atmosphere is great customer service. We can give him four stars. The waitress was busy but she was consciously keeping an eye on us management was also doing her job keeping an eye on every table and what the table needed. But come on guys. Whoever is the owner of this restaurant. Really need to talk to the cook because you need to add some salt and some flavor. All of your food looks great but has no taste and no flavor. I hope you guys work on it. Hope to be back soon when you guys fix your flavors. Attaching some pictures and this is the perfect example of sometimes. What you see is what you eat. The food looks great but it tastes bland by the way, the tostada we didn't even get to try didn't give it a chance because we were done tasting so much without tasting...
Read moreWe have driven by La Fogata on multiple occasions and almost always remarked, "We have to try that place some day.", and today we made that mistake.
This "Mexican" restaurant has to be the most unauthentic and quite possibly the worst in existence.
The chips, while a tad salty, were okay, but the salsa was horrible. I've had more flavorful ketchup.
The food - we typically try a burrito at a new place as they are hard to mess up, but mess up, they did! My fiance's carnitas burrito was whatever two steps below luke-warm is called. My "Hipster" was okay, but for the price they should give a bit more sour cream and perhaps provide some guacamole. The rice and beans were very unremarkable. The overall presentation is best described as "blah".
The drinks - my margarita was okay, but nothing remarkable, and for the price, it should have been. My fiance's Dos Equis was colder than her burrito, but not by much.
We saw a group sit down, look at their menus, then immediately get up to leave. I wish we would have done the same thing as this place is incredibly expensive for the low quality food they serve.
Seriously, don't eat here. It will probably upset you. A six pack of hard tacos from and a bottle of your favorite Mexican beer would provide a more satisfying and authentic dining experience.
The only saving grace was our server, Abigail. She was awesome and deserves to work...
