Ross Medical Education Center — Local services in Kentwood

EDIT::: I finally got placed at another extern where I was graded perfectly. My GPA was high until they allowed my first extern to destroy it. Anyway, would you believe these ppl never cared to check in on my since completing the program. I have filed complaints that were not taken seriously. Melissa and Courtney both have failed to show any type of professionalism with me. They refuse to deal with me because I spoke out. Now the worst part is that no one has reached out to tell me the date and time of the graduation potluck. I asked for them to email me instructions on when and where and have received nothing. I have emailed my concerns and texted my concerns but no one has taken my concerns seriously. I wouldn’t recommend this school especially Kentwood location to anyone looking to receive a good education with professional staff. They are a complete joke as a school and as educators. The whole lot of them. Also, I thought there was one educator who had my respect but she has also shown her true colors. Ross told us we were a family, that they would always have our backs and root for our success. That was their biggest lie.

Very unprofessional. Very dishonest from the start. They reel you in with promises of a decent future and job placement in the support of every staff member who supposedly roots for your success. Then after about a month or two, you start to see their unprofessionalism, and if you call them out on it, they all stick together Like best friends, including the head administrator. Her mission statement was that she would put the students concern first for a safe environment for them to study. But if you bring your concerns to her, she sides with the staff members, whether she was there or not. They send you out into the field of extern, un knowledgeable After very little clinic hours. The teacher who runs clinic is supposed to teach you during her class days for at least five hours and you’re lucky to get one or two hours with her and you get no one on one time with her unless she favors you. The administrative teacher is the only one that took her job seriously and did it by the book. The two administrators in the front office do not take your concerns, seriously and invalidate your feelings. Career services failed at every turn. They were very unprofessional and they did not check on you in the field, and when you would come to them with a concern, they would invalidate your feelings and come across very aggressive and angry if you talk to either administrator about their lack of professionalism. I have raised numerous concerns and so has my daughter who attended at the same time as me and we were forced to drop the program because they wouldn’t help us. We were each discharged from a site but told by courier services that it was OK because mistakes are made, and you are held to the standard of a student and not a professional so therefore you’re going to make mistakes. We were told they would follow us to our next externs site and yet they never placed us again. They just continued to make excuses and continue to blacklist us to every other site that they asked to host us. Several clinics and hospitals have stopped working with Ross because their students were so unprepared to go into clinical. I’m in the process now of filing a form of complaint against the administrators and every staff member they are who failed to...

The staff is AMAZING! Honestly, I dreaded the thought of going back to school. I appreciate all my mentors for everything I've learned from them and their own experience. Even when it comes to the financial end to pay off the program, if you let them know you're a little behind and need time to pay, they're more than willing to work with you. My previous colleges didn't offer this so I appreciate it. Your mentors always strive to make sure you're okay and if you're having any difficulties. This school has taught me so many things I never would have learned at a community college. Everyone is so nice and passionate about what they do which to me is amazing. This field I believe will be a great stepping stone for me in a career of multiple opportunists. The instructors are beyond incredible, they have their funny and serious times, making the classroom experience enjoyable.
