FOLLOW-UP: Two weeks ago I gave a review listing a bad take out experience we had. They followed up with a invitation to call them so they could take corrective action. I spoke with Jason, he said he was embarrassed that his team did not perform and missed the mark on many steps within this one order. He said that he did retraining with his team and that he wanted to make it right. Jason offered to repeat the entire order on the house. I must say I was very impressed with the good business sense in this action. We eat out a lot. Probably more that we should be we work hard all day and just want a good meal when we all get home. During the order pick up Jason greeted me with respect and apologized once more for his teams actions two weeks ago. When I arrived home, the food was hot and it was delicious!!! They have won me back! This is how you do it Village Inn! Great customer service on the rebound from a bad experience. This customer appreciates your efforts! I'll leave the old review so that everyone gets the full understanding and can use as a learning tool. {HORRIBLE Take-Out Experience! We had an order for 5 people so the order was big, 7 items. They had two big bags stapled shut waiting for me when I arrived. From the looks of it, it did not seem like my full order was in those bags. I asked the counter service person if that was my full order. She looked at the receipt, went behind to see if there were more bags, then came back, and told me that this was my complete order. I drove home, 20 minutes, and when I removed, the items 2 were missing. I called the restaurant and the manager told me that I left a bag. So she basically blamed me for not having the complete order. I explained to her that I would come and pick up but during that time two of my family members other items would end of being cold by the time they got their food. My husband drove there to get the rest of the order. When we arrived, he was not greeted with respect. They gave him a bag. Luckily, he checked it because it still only had the one missing item. They said they did not have the other item when we were told on the phone that the two items were in the bag. They said they quickly needed to make the second item but I feel they may have just taken a part of someone else’s order because the amount that was in that bowl was like a cup full. Not a huge amount like it was explained on the phone when I placed my order. My husband returned 1 hour later, eating cold food. I was not eating without him so my food ended up being cold as well. I get that mistakes happen but the restaurant made the mistake and they should have done everything to apologize for it and make it right. They acted like it was so normal and if this is normal for them. They need serious improvements. I will never order from that...
Read moreI would give a zero STAR, but it won't let me. I over heard a manager (caucasian male) arguing with a guest about the happy hour menu/ check. Saturday July 13 somewhere between 9:45pm -11:00 pm The Waitress gave the happy hour menu to everyone in the group and didn't honor the happy hour price at check out. Didn't mention anything about a band. The lady (customer)asked why are the servers giving the menus when the prices are not being honored? He said because that's the way that it is, he was very unprofessional. He stated when there's a band/karaoke the happy hour prices are not valid. He even said "Yes she made a mistake and gave your group the happy hour menu...." So with that said, she thought he was going to honor the menu price but He said "You still have to pay full price."He said more but I could not hear I could see she was upset but she kept her cool and paid the regular price. To me, that was wrong, it was their mistake. That's not how you treat your customers. I will not be going back to Village Inn on 44th street unless it's under new management. I could see if it's after happy hour time, but it was not that either. You should not be rude to a customer. I feel bad for that group. If they didn't contact corporate someone should. If they made the mistake they should honor it. Not raising his voice...
Read moreNever had a bad expirence like this at a restaurant before. Order a chicken sandwich, pasta, and bread sticks. Both the chicken sandwich and pasta come out so we begin eating. My sandwich had incorrect toppings but it wasn’t a big deal so I didn’t say anything. Then we get about half way done with our meal and still no breadsticks so I ask her if there still coming and she says “yes” then goes back there. By the time we were finished eating we still didn’t receive our breadsticks so I asked her if she can just cancel them because were done and ready to go. After that the manager asks us why we canceled the breadsticks and states “she said you guys didn’t place them until half way through your meal” which was a lie! I had never had a waitress lie on me before and get questioned by a manger like we did something wrong! I’m completely understanding and would’ve rather got a “sorry I’m new I forgot to place the order”. The manager ended up giving us the breadsticks for free to go and said she would talk to the employee. At least they tried to make it right but definitely wouldn’t waste my...
