My entire family in New England has used State Farm for decades so when making the move south to Charleston, I knew I wanted to 'keep it in the family,' per se, and I'm so happy we did. We recently changed agents to Emily Adams State Farm here on Johns Island for convenience of location and accessibility for any and all of our insurance needs. While some may think of insurance as uninteresting or a boring necessity, our personal agent Nick has made our experience the complete opposite since our first meeting. Nick is well-versed in anything and everything insurance, he is thorough and personable, not salesy but rather makes it a goal to present you with the options that are best suited for your family. Being small business owners ourselves, we share a great appreciation for their professionalism, timeliness, ease of communication and customer service. We are insured by this State Farm office and have had a great experience with Chris Meiklejohn! I was involved in a collision that ended with my vehicle being totaled. I called the office immediately from the wreck and Chris answered. First thing he asked was if I was okay! And then he gave me every step I needed to take once the officer arrived on the scene. He understood that I was shaken and also sent all that info via text so that I would have anything I missed of forgot. Once the officer arrived I could not find my insurance card and called Chris back and he immediately sent the information. We love our State Farm Agent Emily Adams!! The other day I called to get advice about a neighbors tree that is about an 80' Water Oak towering over our house. A few nights before we were awoken by about a 300lb limb that fell from it on our roof, scaring us to death. No damage this time but if that tree were to fall it would be devastating. Anyway, the house is a rental so we do not know the owners. Called Nick at Emily's Agency and he had brilliant advice. Look up the owner on Chas County Auditor's site, get their name and address and send a certified letter explaining the threat we are literally living under and see how they respond. Within two days, they had the rental management company respond with a tree removal service who came out and took the massive tree down. Hooray!
