I walked in to Jack's Stereo in Killeen TX on a Friday but couldn't be seen until the following Monday, which was fine. Brought my vehicle in first thing that next Monday morning (9am), dropped it off, handed them a written document of my stereo concerns, left my phone number and asked that they call if they had any questions since the aftermarket stereo I had installed had been previously done by Best Buy personnel. Afterwards, I took an Uber home. Around 2pm that day, I get a call from the manager stating that after trying for approximately 2 hours, they were unable to remove the face plate of my 2010 Nissan Armada stereo. Therefore, no work could be done. Since I was the only customer, that day, I grabbed an Uber back to Jack's Stereo, picked up the truck only to find out my HVAC had ceased to work. Apparently, after their several attempts to remove the cover, they messed up my AC controls. Nevertheless, since I thought they'd work on it that afternoon, I paid little attention to the lack of AC in the Texas heat and quickly drove to Best Buy. When I arrived the technician simply removed the 4 screws that were holding the face plate in place. Jack's Stereo personnel were clueless even after being told there was an aftermarket stereo installed. After the Best Buy technician removed the 4 screws, I immediately went back to Jack's (about 20 min later) and showed them that the face plate was now accessible. The manager looked at me and said that they didn't have any time to work on my vehicle (2:30pm at this time). That's when the technician walked out front. I asked why would they spend 2 hours trying to remove my face plate and not call me. The technician told me that he only spent a few minutes trying to remove it, not 2 hours. The manager lied to my face and tried to placate me into believing they actually spent time on my vehicle when they did not. I stated that my HVAC needed to be looked at but again, I was told that it wouldn't be that day and that they would maybe TRY to look at it if I brought it in the next day. I'd just assume not let them TRY anything with my vehicle.
Jack's Stereo in Killeen left me in worse shape than I had been before I arrived. They wasted my time and money by letting my vehicle sit in the shop the entire day and left me with an inoperable HVAC unit. By the way, did I also mention that the manager told me that I was the only customer that day? Amazing!!
Jack's Stereo was a huge disappointment and staffed by personnel who are not properly trained. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They have no regard for your time or money.

Read moreA few months ago I wanted to add SiriusXM to my factory radio so when I’m driving long distances I can enjoy none stop music and I didn’t want an external device cluttering my car. I had a factory radio that wasn’t equipped with this option but the newer version of my car did come with it. I simply ordered a factory radio off eBay that can receive SXM and swapped my radio myself since it was a factory make it was a perfect fit however the part I missed was standard radio antennas can’t receive satellite signals. So I went here to get information on purchasing an SXM antenna or something that I can use to make this happen. I was told that this could not be ordered through them and to check with the car dealership about ordering this part. No problem, I figured this wasn’t going to be an easy task for me. The dealership too could not help me so I was left with no choice but to purchase an aftermarket radio. I went here again just a few days ago and asked more questions about radios and one of my questions was simple, since my car is equipped with back up camera is there a radio I can by that I can use with my pre-existing camera. After he looked in his computer he told me no that I would have to purchase camera. I didn’t want to have two backup cameras on my car so I thought all was lost until I checked out Brass Customs. I explained my situation and quickly was able to get a radio and was able to purchase an adapter that allowed me to keep my current camera installed. Since I never had work done by Jacks Stereo I can’t comment on the job they do, they seem like a good business otherwise they would be closed however when it comes to knowledge about the products you in the business of sailing, my experience is they don’t...
Read moreI recently visited Jack’s Stero to address a persistent static noise coming from my vehicle’s radio. The technician suggested that my speakers were either failing or already damaged and recommended replacing them. I went ahead with the replacement, but unfortunately, the static noise persisted.
The next day, I called the shop to report that the issue was unresolved. The technician advised me to bring the vehicle back for further inspection. Due to scheduling conflicts, I wasn’t able to return immediately. When I finally did, I was told that they couldn’t replace or repair the actual speakers causing the noise due to compatibility issues with my Mercedes, and no further solutions were offered.
I feel like I was taken advantage of, both because I am female and because they took my money knowing they couldn’t fix the issue. The problem remained unresolved despite purchasing four new speakers. Additionally, when I picked up my car, there was a strong smell of weed inside, which is particularly concerning given that I work on a federal installation where such smells are strictly prohibited. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I am very dissatisfied with the service and will be seeking other avenues to address this issue. I do not recommend this shop based on my experience.
Update 29 August: Static noise is now noticeable in the front passenger speaker as well. It started faint, but now louder than the back. The speakers even make the static noise when the radio is off. My music sounds like I am listening to the radio on a back road. 4 speakers were installed May 1, 2024, well...
