Black Meg 43 — Restaurant in Killeen

If I could give a 0, I would. We went last night and were given rotten tomatoes and overly salted fries. I called to calmly tell the manager, but I got the owner. I told her the situation, and she said, "Oh, I cooked it; nothing is wrong," when clearly I kept all the food and didn't eat after taking a bite and realizing it. She stated—mind you, this is the owner—"You're insulting me; I'm the one who cooked." Well, then I'm sorry, but that's worse. Then she stated, "The tomato is not bad," as I had it in hand. I stated I could bring it and show her. No, I know it's not. I'm like, "Lady, I have proof; it's here." She then went on to insult my husband and me, saying, "Y'all should have eaten the food at the window and complained last night." Firstly, it was food for us and the kids. Like, what? And y'all were closed as we left and drove home. We finally started eating and noticed. Sorry, we don't eat in our car and open everyone's meals to check quality. As an owner or even a worker, that's your job. Then she stated, "Read my window; I have a sign." So you mean it's okay to serve bad food because you have a sign ok yah never again horrible food horrible customer service an mind you it's the owner oh she states I'm call kpd if you come up here like what lol it's to much just avoid it's not worth try one in coppers cove hopefully that one...

What Happened To Black Megs?

Returned back to Texas from a work trip after being out of the state for two months. Was totally excited to get me my usual Black Meg meal with bacon, grilled onions and extra sauce (tator tots with Meg sauce on the side.) Had it delivered via Door Dash(DD) and delivery was quick and reasonably priced.

The food quality has gone downhill tremendously. The tator tots have a horrible, old- grease taste to them and are soft/squishy despite being dark in color. Definitely going to toss them, but it's a shame as I paid $1 each for the Meg sauce on DD to dip them in.

The Black Meg??? This is NOT a Black Meg! The burger is edible but not delicious like it use to be. The meat is different. It tastes cheap and has absolutely no seasoning (I'm not even sure there's salt on the patties.) The bun too is different, can't quite put my finger on it but it tastes way different than I remember it. Again it's okay, but not the same quality. The Meg sauce was good but the bacon wasn't cooked fully and my burger didn't have the grilled onions (I paid for.)

All-in-all, I gave a 3 star rating because it's not a " bad" place to eat, but it's not a great place anymore. I understand with inflation that many smaller places have been hit financially hard, but I hope the quality of food doesn't go any...

This has been my go to burger place in Killeen for quite a while now. I always order through Uber eats. I have ordered their small hamburger meal a few times. But today was the first time that I received what can only be a joke! I looked at this biscuit size Burger and almost went up to the location to see if this was a mistake. But I realized it wasn't a mistake the quality of the food has just come to this. While the prices for most of their burgers are extremely overpriced, to know that they are pushing this meal as a small meal instead of a kids meal is deceiving. Like I said I've ordered the small meal numerous times and received a regular size bun and patty which was to be expected. But today I had to measure what I received in my Uber eats order because I couldn't believe my eyes. Now to the french fries it's very clear in this photo these fries aren't fresh at all. Initially my orders would stand out! I have even called up to the restaurant to compliment how well the food taste and the presentation and the size of the meals for the price.

I've been told there are a lot better burger places to patronize and Killeen but I've been very faithful to Black megs from my first time ordering burgers. But after today's order I'm definitely looking at...
