If I could give this place 0 stars I would!! Husband and I came through because we are building a greenhouse for the back yard. The store was disorganized, small / dirty, poor selection, and the workers were very rude! Not only were we followed throughout this grungy building but frequently heard the workers loudly complain about how customers cant read due to them opening boxes to inspect the merchandise. Keep in mind there were signs ALL OVER THE WALLS that said "all sales are final, not refunds, no trades, no cash back, ect". Plus, NONE of the merchandise presented had complete sets. It's like going to a Pick and Pull and grabbing one piece of a larger item i.e fan motor but no blades, or a lawnmower frame but no motor / gas tank. Really sour experience! I can't see how this particular store is helping ANYONE.
Keep in mind I am from Norfolk, Virgina and so the habit for humanity there is very different!!! It featured not only builder grade materials but furniture, China, pianos, books, appliances, antique doors, antique windows, and storm shutters ect. So my expectations were abit higher. Plus, the workers were FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL with many in the community helping, donating, and volunteering. This Ft. Hood store greatly...
Read moreI decided to visit this place today 06/29/22 because it was recommended to me. It’s my first time and my friend told me that by buying here I was helping good causes. I don’t know how the purchase method works. I arrived and saw merchandise outside. I approached to the type of merchandise (ceramic tiles) that I was interested to buying. Repeat it is my first time in this place. There was merchandise next to the fence and next to the building. When I approached the merchandise that was next to the building, which did not indicate “sold” in it. An employee approached us and rudely told us “don’t touch that and don’t mess that, it’s already sold”. I was impressed because I never thought I would run into this situation. I didn’t answer anything because I thought “maybe this employee had a bad day” and I left. The saddest part is that I just spent $2000 approx at Lowes for similar merchandise and this money could have been used and at this Habitat location. I did not feel comfortable having gone through this situation. The worst of all this is that I never plan to visit this place again. The only thing I recommend to the administration is that teach their employees how to...
Read moreHad to rate with one star, that was the lowest choice, they deserve a big ZERO. I love Habitat and what they do, this was the worst experience I've had though. I came in at 1645 when the were closing at 1700. The office staff said we're closing, I remarked that I would be gone before 5. They have a very small inventory and items weren't priced. I just needed a few interior door knobs. Then, at 1650, they turned off the lights. I told the guy with the light switch in his hand that I was still trying to pick out a few things. He said "go talk to her", so I did, and she said yes, we're closing. I said it's 10 minutes to 5 pm. "Oh, you can keep shopping (with the the lights turned off). Clearly, a group less concerned about Habitat' s mission, than they are about their personal business. What a bunch of...
