Nacho Average Brewpub — Local services in Kilmarnock

If there was truly truth in advertising, then this spot should be renamed "Average Brew Pub Serves Nachos". But, maybe that took up too much signage space. We came for a weeknight dinner and beer. Not too late. Maybe 6-ish at the latest and not a lot of people around. However, the entire front of the house was operated by one person. Host, waiter and bartender. When we arrived there were a few folks watching games at the bar and two tables. Us and a young family. Later it got a bit more crowded but the poor guy was juggling everything and doing it poorly. While the nachos were above average and the beer was beer, the service was abysmal. I'll try it again, but if they can't keep or afford staff, I'm a nope for a repeat of the experience. I tried this place but I wouldn’t go back again. I ordered fish and chips and watched the cook bring it out and it sat on the counter for at least 10 minutes before my waiter noticed it and served it to me? Why, my server was too busy on his laptop figuring out his fantasy football team! Also, he didn’t pay very good attention to details because my order was also missing the cole slaw. I wasn’t sure about that until I got home and looked it up their menu or I would’ve said something. On the positive side, they served my beer soon after I sat at the bar. So, I really love the atmosphere, the games and the comfort of being able to grab a drink with my husband while the kids play and not feel like we just walked into a bar with our band of wrecking balls. It truly isn't the average brewpub. We go back and will continue to go back. We have really enjoyed trivia Thursdays! The food is very subpar. Nothing we've ordered has been great and I really hate to say it. I want to love the food, it all sounds good but it just isn't and I'm not in anyway a picky person or a food connoisseur, it's just not great food.
