The gift shop itself is in connection with the Arizona Route 66 museum. It is the money making portion of the museum. You kind of go through it to enter the museum. And of course you have to go through it to leave the museum. You do not have to shop or spend money in the gift shop. Although the museum charges admission, the gift shop probably helps offset the costs of running the museum. This was one of the nicer gift shops we had been to along Route 66. The wife did make a purchase for an item she had not been able to find (what she liked) all along Route 66. So it's a nice stop. You have the museum, plus the Mojave Museum across the street. I was shopping at the store and saw through the window how my bus was s-l-o-w-l-y leaving parking lot, WITHOUT me on it. Honestly, I thought I am going to have heart attack... Read moreIt has all the basics but it's been here awhile and the gravel roads and parking areas are level but not well maintained it will be muddy if it rains. The store/office and laundry clean, didn't look in showers. You can see everything in the area in less than a day then it's a long drive to anything else. The staff friendly and helpful. The price ok considering the area, season and no competition.
