We spent an overnight at this Motel 6 during a weeknight in May, 2023. Let me start out by saying the motel is an outdoor room style motel. I personally like that, as it makes for easier loading and unloading of your gear to the room. In this case it didn't seem like a really old refurbished motel. As the rooms were a little larger than the really older motels. But it also didn't feel brand new either. But this is where you find the more reasonable prices most of the time. We checked out our room and unpacked for the night. Then we tried to go to dinner. But we found that the door didn't lock. We found that without the key card, both the door latch and dead bolt opened right up without the key by just turning the handle. This isn't the first time that we have had an issue with a motel room. And I'm sure it won't be the last. They didn't have a maintenance person at this point in the day. So they gave us another room. Not a big deal. But unfortunately in this case we had already unpacked. So we packed up our things and moved to the new room. Then we went for a late dinner. Stuff happens. Back in the second room we checked out room. Like the first room, the sink was really nice. Except the sink was really horrible. If you turn on the water anything past just barely on, you, and the counter get sprayed with water. It kind of reminds me of a kitchen spray hose. Both rooms were like this. Looking around, the room appeared clean, until you really looked. We found things like dust in a lot of spots there probably should not have been. Some dirt, debris and a lot of water spots in the tub. I took off my shoes at the desk, and my bright white socks were showing dirt almost instantly, without even walking. Thank the lord I had slippers :) . So the room wasn't the cleanest we've ever seen. But, it was a decent room if you don't consider yourself a germaphobe. It had a desk and decent TV. The bed was not bad. Just a decent typical motel room. The motel also came with nice things like being able to walk across the parking lot to a good restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. It was easy to load and unload our stuff from our vehicle being an outside door style motel. And we were even treated to a fireworks display close by that we watched from our window. I'll include some pictures. The wife slept decent, but not so much for me. It was kind of dry in the room which played havoc with me. Maybe the climate, or maybe the AC. Maybe both. I kept getting up for water and such. Plus now that I was awake, between 1:30 and 3:30 am, a person kept walking loudly back and forth across the floor in the room above us. So I didn't sleep very well. But again, stuff happens. The shower was okay. The shower head was on the low side. The water pressure wasn't great. And the water didn't seem that soft. No not prefect. But it did the job. And the toilet seat does't have a cover like most toilets. It's just a seat like a public bathroom. A lot of folks may not care. But we like having the cover. I guess it's another matter of preference. This Motel 6 has its issues. But for the most part it is a nice motel, especially for an overnight. It is in what I would consider a very nice location being within walking distance to multiple museums and a pretty good restaurant across the parking lot. The cost to stay here very reasonable when you consider what you get for the money compared to what you don't get. So if you can overlook some possible minor issues, I would recommend this Motel 6 for the product it provides at a very reasonable...
Read moreRoom 107 Very convenient location in old town. Nice staff....but no sense of humor. Maybe he was a bit tired. (I use to work as a front desk manager) We understand it is a Motel Six & not a fancy hotel. BUT being a disability room & the bathroom it really needs to be rethought. Not easy to use the shower handle, difficult to turn for someone who is disabled. Shower slide bar for handheld wand is difficult to turn to slide up & down. The interior of the tub is sloped & hard to stand in. Worried I was going to fall. The bath seat is nice but to low for anyone who is disabled to actually use....total waste there. Even if you do sit to shower you can't reach the shower wand & no wand holder to put in if you could No table or counter space to put things on. We had to use the desk chair for a table in the bathroom. The shelf above the sink is slanted & everything falls off into the sink. The floor was filthy. Needs a good disinfectant scrubbing. Would be nice if they had a second chair in the room. With three people in the room no place to sit but on the bed. We found a pill tablet under the desk. Glad that our little dog did not find it. Beds & pillows were comfy. With no place (no dresser etc) to put luggage but the floor a second luggage stand would have been nice especially when your disabled. Nice TV & choice of stations to watch. Heating & AC worked nice & were quiet compared to other hotels we have stayed in. Parking lot had litter blowing around...but it was windy that day...so???One suggestion....have the manager or a staff member or someone you know that has physical disabilities stay overnight in the room Room #107. Use the room as a disabled person who can't bend, can't pick up things off the floor, take a real shower sitting & use the comfort height toilet using the grab bar (which is a bit to high...a second vertical or angled bar would make things so much easier. Then get their opinion of how the room worked for them. I know there is no perfect disability bathroom unless it is in your home & designed specifically for your own disabilities. BUT.....Room #107 needs a little bit of help especially...

(I actually found the bedsheets here more comfortable & warm than the ‘nicer hotels’ I’ve stayed at!) I checked in late at night at 10pm and the lady working the front desk at the time was so sweet. I stupidly managed to lock myself out at 11pm when I went to get things from my car and she helped me get back into my hotel room, no judgement or hint of annoyance about having to do this so late at night.
The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable, no smell like others had complained about. I was on the second floor and could not hear anything from my neighbors and the blackout curtains were effective. It seems like this motel really is just a place for travelers to come crash for the night because it was so darn quiet when I was walking about & checking in from 10-11pm.
Now if you are a solo traveler I don’t recommend checking in as late as I did as the parking lot does fill up and you may have to end up park far & walk some ways to your hotel room -which is always a little scary regardless of where you are & there were a few unhoused people milling about just beyond the premises of the property. (Since I checked in so late too I ended up having to pay $20 extra for a double room as all the solo rooms were taken.) But I would recommend that no matter where you stay and to no fault of this establishment.
Hope this...
