Been to this place twice. Small little kitschy place with a bare bones decor. First time kind of crowded. Food great, server was great. Got the whole been here before routine. I ordered my soup to be a 3 spicy based on the servers recommended. I got the district impression from the clearly out of towner that server was being to slow. I tipped over 20% for the care he took with us since we were new to the restaurant but not new to Thai food. Today I went back had the same server (Nathan I believe). Food just as good as first I thought our server was great. Decided to get my spicy at a 2 and a half until I fully get the feel for the kitchen (based of Natand suggestion. Glad i did with the food since the other more subtler flavor of my soup was better represented...but then this happened...Older gentleman came in and ordered food to-go. Our server helped him out one of the doors. As my husband paid I went out side door and around to hold the door for the young server (he doesn't look like he is even 20) so that he can help the customer to his car better. My doing so interrupted the customer in his conversation with the server. Without missing a beat Nathan said "I'm still listening Sir, please continue." When my door holding was no longer needed I went to my car and watched. It took this older gentleman 10 more minutes to get into the passenger seat of the car that was no more than 4 feet away from the door. THE WHOLE time Nathen was polite, courteous and diligent with the older mans safety. It was heartwarming to see the care this server took with his to-go order customer. Someone definitely raised this young gentleman right and its transferd on to a great work ethic. My husband and I were disappointed we paid too soon and didnt leave him a larger than 20% tip for our meal. If the food was average or less I would go back, order a water and leave a $20 tip for this server. We will definitely go back because the food is sooo good it has made it my favorite Thai in this area but our server will forever be overtopped at this restaurant by $20. I dont care that the atmosphere is less than stellar and that the restrooms are outside the restaurant. The restaurant has always appeared clean inside. It might take Nathan a bit to get to you when its crowded but his sense of humor when it happens is beyond wonderful because he seems to be the only server they have. Read moreI should have taken pictures but I was so mad after loading a plate with food I purchased and not being able to eat it that I just drove straight back to the restaurant.
Last night I ordered beef/broccoli, pad Thai and a curry for take out. Every single dish came infused with small pieces of plastic/metal/Teflon just under the size of pennies. There were tiny broken pieces and basically a peppering of inedible disintegrated cookware in our food.
When I got to the restaurant to discuss what happened the boy at the register commented that what was sprinkled all over my food was "residue". I brought a few of the larger pieces in a towel and explained this is not dirty uncleaned grime from food (which would still be unacceptable!?!) This is plastic or metal or Teflon from outdated and/or improperly cared for cookware. He went on to say this is normal, to have this in the food and he's been eating it this way for years !! The individuals dining in listened to the conversation with horror in their eyes as they stopped eating. He then asked if I would like my food remade, or just a refund. I got a refund....
Read moreThis visit was terribly disappointing. We’re local and we’ve enjoyed meals here before, but not this time.
The place was less than half full for dinner midweek. The Thai iced tea was good, although a bit too sweet. My partner ordered peppers with basil and shrimp. It was tasty, hot and flavorful.
However, he had FINISHED EATING by the time my dish arrived. (We ordered at the same time.) I had no idea my food would take that long and I was so hungry. The server did not communicate about this at all. When my food arrived, I told him how upset I was and how that is not restaurant industry standard. It’s just not good guest service at all. And he did nothing. Didn’t offer a discount, didn’t take off my drink, or offer dessert. Nothing.
The server didn’t even check back to see how the food was tasting. I barely ate half my food (and the portions are pretty small) and my stomach started to hurt and my head started to ache. I can’t believe I had to pay for that horrible experience.
