Quite possibly one of the most endearing gift shop locations ever visited. While en route to Fresno with a cousin, we noticed the signs "Swedish Village" and decided to investigate upon finishing business. We stopped in the community and located this shop, where a sweet lady greeted us and proceeded to give a thorough and informative history of her shop, the town of Kingsburg and how much the Swedish culture means to her. She expressed so much warmth and appreciation for the integrity of which she strives to maintain in Kingsburg, amidst other majorities in California as a whole, which this one agrees with her in preserving. The shop itself offers much in Swedish wares, and the Christmas holiday season is no exception, during the time of visit. Friendly lady and some nice things that are Swedish/Norwegian/Danish culture, the reason for 1 star was the very awkward interaction at the end of my visit. As I waited in line, the lady working the counter and another customer were chatting and getting checked out. The customer, after getting her total, was confused and asked the cashier to check the total again. After recalculating the total, it ended up being off by around $20. When it was my turn, she ended up trying to overcharge me $10, in which I asked her to recalculate. What an amazing place, we have shopped here over the years and I am in awe every time we walk in. Such an adorable, down to earth, slice of Swedish and Scandinavian Culture. Truly a gem, here you can buy some several items from Sweden and neighboring countries and enjoy some delicious items along the way. We are huge fans of their lingonberry jam, and fresh local honey!
