Los Pepes Authentic Mexican Food — Restaurant in Kingsburg

I have eaten Mexican food in many places both USA and Mexico. This is NOT authentic Mexican food. Here are my issues with this restaurant. Food a bit over seasoned including chips, mostly salt. Service was just OK. Food came out without silverware then initially were given just a fork. A clear sign of no procedures or standards in place. They had been busy and were probably a little tired but that is when you need procedures the most. Not the cleanest but they had been busy (not offering them an excuse) Order not correct maybe 1/2 my fault as they had 2 items on the menu with the same name. Prior to go, we called to reserved once we arrived they had told us they had given our reservation to another group. We waited for a couple of minutes about 20 more minutes.. A waitress said ok guys u guys are in we go in and this other lady said no no this one is reserved how embarrassing! We get up keep and mind some elderly women are with us. it was my first time eating at this establishment. and i never leave reviews but the service was so disappointing. i ordered the camaron al mojo de ajo to go and it came with a salad that i sat down to enjoy that had a bug in it. when i let the server know she didn’t express any concern and asked what i wanted her to do about it. she then says “ i can give you a discount if you want”. the discount was $1.50. i take my food to go and it’s my fault that i didn’t check it before leaving but i didn’t have everything that came with the meal. it was just an all around bad first...
