Lakeland is a community college in Kirtland, a suburb of Cleveland. It’s a great place to start a post high school education, to obtain one of many certifications, obtain or finish an associates degree, or start down the road toward a four year degree In conjunction with a multitude of four-year institutions. Often, most of the classes that need to be taken to obtain those four year degrees, can be taken right on the Lakeland campus.
The college has a local feel, but provides a premier education to those that cannot afford or for one reason or another have not been able to find their way to college. That’s because this college is affordable, local, safe, and many scholarships are available.
There are also programs for those that are still in high school, single parents, and especially programs for those are who are already in the workforce and are looking to obtain further education in their field so that they are more valuable and knowledgeable. There are part-time and full-time students.

Read moreWhen you call to ask for information at Lakeland, make sure you have 31 minutes of free time. You'll sit on hold for 30 minutes, then in the minute you're actually talking to somebody they'll tell you that they don't know the answer to your question, and that you called the wrong department, no matter what. Also plan on having several hundreds of dollars sitting around to purchase books and materials when you start class, because Lakeland holds on to your loan money for weeks after the semester starts. I can't express how helpful that is. In my experience so far, about half of my professors can't write a proper sentence, or give clear instruction. I might just save my money and get a job here because you apparently don't need any college education to work...
Read moreWish I could give a negative number of stars. My daughter quit her classes because she found out they won’t transfer, they still charged over 1 thousand dollars with her never taking the class. The counselor she talked to lied and initially told her they would transfer. Now I get a threatening message that I owe yet more money 60 dollars , part of the breakdown was for books? That she never bought or used. You live and learn but I wouldn’t send my dog here and I have 2 other younger daughters who will never go here as well. Luckily we’ve had better luck with her transfer college and as big of a school as that is you can actually sit down and talk to a real person...
