Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store — Local services in Kittery

As soon as I entered this store for the first time the woman greeting customers at the door told me I was in the women’s section in a weirdly condescending way. It was weird because the only other door has an “exit only” sign and I just entered this store for the first time ever. It was also pretty clear the entrance was in front of the woman’s section. Immediately after walking towards the men’s section she asked her coworker to come out and follow me to the men’s section over a walkie talkie which made me feel judged. The male employee who came out and followed me was helpful as far as explaining the different sales and didn’t seem to be judging me as much for looking around a clothing store, but I’m pretty sure he was called out because the greeter judged me as a potential thief. We visited the Polo outlet in Kittery, Maine, at 9:08 AM and checked out with Stephanie. What a horrible checkout experience. We found Stephanie to be ill-tempered and rude. She did not seem to know what she was doing at all. She contradicted herself twice concerning the email and rewards program for coupons.

When we called her on it, her attitude declined even further. The manager came over as she sensed we were not happy at all, as she knew we were regular customers, high rollers. Too many type-A personalities all wanting to be in charge. For the record, we were polite until Steph was at checkout. The folks in Kittery could learn a lot from the store in Wrentham, MA. Awesome selection of collared shirts. I get all my essentials of work shirts here now. TBH I originally came over because the people who work at J. Crew made my feel very unwelcome and were not very friendly at all, but I will keep coming back from now on. The staff is welcoming, warm, friendly and helpful. They (well some) do take a VERY long time to ring you up and fold all of your clothes but it’s ultimately worth it. Nice combo of professional and also cool/casual items to add to...
