Lindt Chocolate Shop — Restaurant in Kittery

I visited this store last Friday and used my credit card to pay. The cashier claimed the transaction was declined. When we asked for proof of the declined transaction, she said their machine didn’t provide such documentation and even refused to show us the screen. We showed her our credit card history, which confirmed the payment had gone through. She insisted the transaction would be cancelled. We then paid a second time in cash and left, hoping she was being truthful.

The following Monday, we returned to the store after confirming the charge had indeed gone through on our credit card. We presented proof, and an employee named Amanda, who identified herself as the supervisor, was called over. She wouldn’t let us speak, immediately began yelling that the charge would be cancelled, and became increasingly rude no matter how calmly we explained the situation. Eventually, she walked away and hid in the back room. The other staff members ignored us until we left.

It was a very disappointing experience for a chocolate store. If you plan to pay with a credit card and they claim the transaction was declined, be cautious. I will not be shopping at this location—or any other Lindt store—again. Amanda’s behavior left a very...

Prices are phenomenal, service is excellent, and the selection of chocolate is tops. Love bring able to choose my own mixture of truffles and select squares, plus you always get a free treat walking through the door. Factory imperfections are available for purchase at the back of the store at a discount but only with limited flavors. My only minor complaint (I wish there was an option for 4.9 stars) is that checkout can be a little slow because they check each purchase and wrap them in tissue paper when necessary. While I greatly appreciate the service, I have seen some people become frustrated while standing in line and wanted to share this tidbit. This store is delicious with so much to think about and more. You are greeted by someone giving you a sample truffle, carmel or milk chocolate. I had not tried so many different varieties of the Luxe Chocolates. Boy, they are to die for and the jelly pieces orange, tangerine and lemon are fantastic! Lots of Halliween themed things to put out at your home or to give the little ghost and pumpkin wrapped truffle to give to treat or treaters.
