For a little background, I have a horrible phobia of dentists, to the point of needing medication just to get a teeth cleaning.
When I spoke with one of Dr. Coulterās nurses, I was greeted with kindness and understanding. They asked if I could schedule a sit-down with them to explain why I have a phobia, and what they could do to help me. When I went, they greeted me by name as soon as I walked in, brought me to a private room and just asked about me. Then Dr. Coulter came in, sat down, gave me some info about him, his practice, and what he would do to help me.
We scheduled a teeth cleaning first, before any cavity work and tooth extraction would take place. The nurse doing the cleaning was gentle, and told me everything she was doing, and what each tool did before she used it. She even played The Office for me to watch as she worked, to keep my mind occupied. Dr. Coulter popped in to ask how I was doing, and told me to hang in there. I know it sounds childish, but honestly, my phobia is that bad.
Once we finished, we got my other appointments set up. I was offered laughing gas to help ease me before each session. All the while Dr. Coulter was working, his nurse would pat my shoulder and tell me Iām doing great. Every time I needed to call them, or stop by for something, Iām always greeted with a smile and by my name.
If I call the office to leave a message after closing, Iāll get a call right when they open, asking if Iām okay. The atmosphere of the office itself feels like walking into a day spa. Thereās soft music playing, eucalyptus smells instead of dental fluoride, soft lighting and state of the art tech to make sure no matter what Iām getting done, whether it be an X-ray, or bite mold, I am comfortable and calm.
I can not recommend this place enough. They go so far above and beyond for me, that the last couple of visits I had, I didnāt even use the gas! My anxiety and phobia was practically gone, and Iāve lived with that nightmare for over 20 years. Not only do they have me taking much better care of my mouth, but have fixed every problem I had to where Iām not self conscious about my smile!
5/5 stars, all my praise, all my love. Thank you Dr. Coulter and staff, for helping me out and treating me with dignity...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI highly recommend going here If you have any fear or anxiety of going to the dentist. The links that they go to make sure that you're comfortable during your appointment are incredible! I filled out an online survey prior to my first appointment, which I can't remember all the details about but they definitely paid attention to it because they asked me about some of the answers I'd given. I did not have to fill out any paperwork in the lobby, and the hygienist made sure to let me know each step of the way what she was about to do so I wasn't surprised or anxious, And she was very attentive to my body language when it came to whether or not I was ready to continue. When it comes to cleaning, they mostly used what I assume was a high-powered water flosser to remove hardened plaque, which was a huge relief because one of the things that I dislike about the dentist the most Is the scraping that they do with the metal tools to clean. Whatever they use did work, because my teeth are just as clean as if they had been scraped like I've had before. They also have several features to help you feel more comfortable while in the chair: the dentist chair Is equipped with a remote control that controls a massage function, you are also handed a remote for a Roku and have access to things like Netflix and Disney Plus and music. I was also offered a weighted blanket, which was very nice as well :) Cost wise, I don't really have a point of comparison since the last time I went to the dentist was on my parents insurance, but I did pay out of pocket - for a cleaning appointment that you would only have to do maybe once or twice a year it seemed pretty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit 09.Mar.21: I went to my first dentist appointment in more than 18 months at a new dentist, in a new state. I haven't been to see a dentist since going to Dr Coulter Family Dentistry. The new dentist was very impressed with my cleaning regiment and said good things about my teeth bones or something like that and my gums. I was proud. I told him that when I was at my last dentist in Knoxville, Dr Coulter, they taught me how to fish instead of just giving me one. I use the techniques that the staff and Dr showed me everyday. My teeth have never been better. The new Dentist even complimented the crown work that Dr. Coulter worked on.
If you want to get your dental health in check, and especially if dentistry scares you, go see Dr Coulter and his staff. Special thanks also to RC for teaching me about motorized tooth brushes.
Who would have thought that going to Dentist would be like going to see friends.
Thatās exactly what happens to me every time I go.
Take professionalism, kindness, patience, great attitudes and great service and itās Coulter Family Dentistry.
The appointment process is smooth and they were always willing to work with my schedule. Iāve never had to wait in the lobby to be seen. They explain in detail whatās going to happen and keep explaining as they go on.
If you have any fears of the dentist, this is the place to go. Your friends there will take...
