I bought a Kitchen sink, and when installing it had questions, so naturally I went to their department in search for the answers I needed as I am a beginner to home improvement. I thought surely someone who works in THIS DEPARTMENT knows something about the products and installation of the products in THIS DEPARTMENT, but no. I was already irritated, and had to walk around for around 20 minutes to find someone, but they also paged a couple of guys which never showed up. Finally I got someone and was trying to explain My problems with installation, and not one but TWO guys were extremely rude and got irritated at me for not telling them exactly what I needed, and kept raising their voices at me!! My issue was needing them to tell me what I needed, not the other way around. If I knew I wouldn’t need the assistance, right? So after 10 minutes of explaining the situation and asking what I needed, I finally just got fed up, put my items down and left more irritated than when I first began. Went to Lowe’s instead and not only did several employees come to me, it they walked me to exactly where I needed to be, put me with the person I needed to talk to, and he explained everything in detail to the point I just gathered a few items and was able to leave with my issues resolved.
Home Depot needs to step up their game, hire a staff that is friendly and keep them knowledgeable about a department that they put employees in. If this is something the company already does, the need to find more friendly and helpful staff. At this moment in time I will not be returning, and have told several people. I have been in customer service for 15 years and never have I treated one of my guests with the disrespect and rudeness I received from these employees.
I have only ever written 2 negative reviews, this being the 2nd. I feel like the company needs to be aware of the situation, and take the necessary steps for improvement.
I am doing a full home renovation/remodel by next summer and will be needing a LOT of supplies but will NOT be purchasing from this company, meaning they just lost about $60K of...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this location today. In fact after over 30 minutes of trying to purchase a tub and wall set, we left very frustrated. Had there not been false advertising so to speak in the plumbing aisle with the markdown price of the tub and wall set, we wouldn't have wasted our time and the time of the employees and manager and other local Home Depot locations. They were discontinuing the products we wanted and had a display up with the markdown prices. However they had none of the product left. Instead of taking the price stickers off or covering them up they left them up and it misled us greatly and cause great frustration. I would never do this if I was running a company and even after we brought it to their attention they didn't cover up the stickers or remove them. That's just discourteous to customers. We were trying to save money and have little money to redo the shower and found a awesome deal but they didn't have any of the product available. And they refused to sell us the display model as well saying it has to go back to the vendor. We did find a nice man who was in the plumbing department who used his Home Depot phone to look up and see if they had the product at any of the other locations. And they did at the Merrillville location. And the man at centerline told us the price would be that price but that wasn't true. Apparently he didn't understand that each store as we found out, sets their own prices. When we called Maryville they refused to honor the markdown price as they were the only store left in the entire Knoxville area that had not discontinued the product. That's just poor management that goes back to corporate as we realize each store sets their own prices so to speak. Definitely don't feel like spending any more of my money at Home Depot after that ordeal. We can just go right down the road to Lowe's and buy a similar product at a much...
Read moreThis review is about the kitchen cabinet department. In the past week I have dealt with both associates in charge of this department. When my wife and I initially came in, we worked with one of the associates to order an entire kitchen set of cabinets. We came up with a list of cabinets that would fill out our kitchen. I say "we," but it was mostly me sketching out the measurements and doing the calculations. I had to correct the associate several times on the math involved. When we were finally done, he said they probably had everything in stock, but he needed to check. Because he said it would take a while, I said I would come back on a later day to finalize the order and pay. He assured me this wasn't a problem, and that he would call me to follow up the next day. Sure enough, the next day, he called me, told me that he had made a mistake on one of the cabinets, and that we would need to make a minor adjustment. He said I could come in any time and make those changes, and that he would "leave the sketches in the drawer." When we came back today, the other associate was working, and he was zero help. He looked in the drawers, but just shrugged everything off and said he couldn't find anything. He didn't offer to resketch anything or see if the cabinets in question were in stock. He just said "all I have for you is carpet orders and installs" and that we would have to come back tomorrow when the first associate was working. He seemed huffy and not interested in helping at all. Needless to say, I won't be using this Home Depot to order any cabinets...
