I came by at 5 pm. Grabbed a simple external storage for the ps4. Get home and plug it in at around 6. Long way to gamestop from my house. Mind you im catching rides to and from as I made apparent to the salesmen on staff at the time. I bought the 2 tb storage. Now upon plugging it in I got an error code and "this storage isn't compatible with your ps4" crazy, this is stock ps4. The original not the pro or any upgrades. Firmware up to date. Updates all up to date. So I called back. They said they could do an exchange. So I did so. I literally found a ride and got a second one. Now, at this point I'm pretty upset as I get home at around 8 o'clock and plug it In. Fresh out of the box I'm given the exact same error code. Both usb ports work splendidly, as I have made certain of this. Yet, two devices brand new out of the box from gamestop later and we are still out of luck. I called back up there and spoke with the exact same salesman and was told to come in AGAIN for am exchange or refund. Now mind you they KNOW I'm catching rides there by now and they even expressed understanding and empathy in my frustration. This is by far the most unpleasant buying experience I've ever faced at any retail outlet store across the United states. This puts shame upon the company of gamestop in general and will guarantee I never purchase from your company again. The customer is always right, especially if they do work in video game development on newer generation consoles. Therefore, I do not speak without the knowledge required to do so. Now, had gamestop actually wanted to show the public the customer is always right and this is indeed NOT how they treat their loyal customers, they would have made this right in some form or some fashion other than a refund or exchange. Will you refund my rides gas and or time? Refund my faith in your company? What I would LIKE to do is make a few gmail accounts (free) and take this reviewing thing to the next level. How many reports before your store gets that dreaded "Rev"? Everyone dreads the review and we all know that most stores operate off of a per rating basis so make a few more accounts few more reviews and force a rev on this store as frequently...
Read moreI would go lower if I could. WARNING STAY AWAY FROM GIFT CARDS THEY LIMIT WHATS ABLE TO BE BOUGHT AND BECAREDUK ORDERING ONLINE THEY CHARGED ME 4 TIMES FOR 4 GAMES LAST BLACK FRIDAY. The one online order took months to get my refund and games for charging me 4 times the og amount. Then I get a gift card and the only things you can buy is the selection of 10 new games $80 games and like 3 pre owned games that are $25 more expensive than anywhere else. Or of course 9t% of a gaming store being cheap toys, awful clothes and stuffed animals. Ridiculous Staff is super rude and unhelpful. I see why this company is slowly dying. Went from videogame store too toy store. You're better off with Amazon. Too all older family members thinking of gifting your child a gamestop giftcard DONT They basically limit you on what you can spend your gift card on your better off taking them with the money and letting them pick what they want or simply give g them a Walmart giftcard since Walmart has a better selection these days it's pathetic. Thanks gamestop. Lost a live long customer over gift card greed. No excuses why my $100 cash can buy Xbox gamepass but the same $100 on a gamestop gift card can't? Weird but whatever I wint be shopping her again once I either sell this gift card ir soend it in something good resell since the selection at every store is God awful, rude employees and many who don't know a thing about games, console and media.
DO BETTER GAMESTOP OTHERWISE YOU'LL NECOME THE...
Read moreIâm not someone who writes reviews, but this experience deserves one.
I drove 30 minutes to my local GameStop because their website showed two games in stock at this exact location. When I got there, the employee didnât even bother to actually checkâhe just opened a drawer for two seconds, closed it, and said, âNo, we donât have them.â I asked if he could please double-check since the website said they were available, but he couldnât even pretend to look. I canât go behind the counter myself, so I left frustrated.
I went home and placed an online order for the same games and paid for shipping. The next day, I get a notification that the shipping label was created FROM THE SAME GAMESTOP I WAS JUST AT 12 HOURS AGO.
So I call the store when they openâwithout mentioning my orderâjust to ask if they have the games in stock. They say âNo, we donât have them.â I then ask about my online order and suddenly after a minute itâs âOh yes, we do have them and weâll be shipping them out to you.â
So now youâve lied to me twice, and Iâm stuck paying shipping for something I could have just bought in person if anyone there actually did their job.
I even called the main GameStop support line, and not only was the call difficult to understand, but they basically told me thereâs nothing they can do.
Unprofessional, lazy, and dishonest. This store (and GameStop as a whole) made me pay extra because they couldnât be bothered to look...
