I went to Festival Foods today for a few things. First of all, I was at the deli department to buy meat and cheese. I asked the young man if you had pepper jack cheese. I wanted a half pound and he said it was a little over,so I accepted that. When I got home, I looked at my receipt and noticed he gave me pepper jack GOAT CHEESE @ 12.99/# and obviously it was more than a little over half pound because it cost me $10.20! I've never had goat cheese and certainly hope we all like it. I wasn't happy that he didn't tell me initially! One more thing, he was not friendly and very impatient! On a better note, I was looking for some packaged blueberry muffins because the last time I bought some from the bakery, a while ago, they were dry. Chris helped me in my search and I then told her about my experience. We agreed that they maybe expired in a day or 2 and it's my fault that I didn't look at the date! She went above and beyond to make sure I made the right choice this time! She suggested to take them out of fresh area and I asked for a plastic tray for them instead of the bag and she gave me 2 so I could buy 8 muffins. THEN, she gave me 4 free!! I truly didn't expect Or Want anything free! Just wanted to explain my previous experience. I was So taken back and was Very emotional because in our world now, it's not common to be treated with kindness and to have someone to do what she did! Thank you Chris and Keep doing what you're...
Read moreBeing only a half mile from the house, this is a stop for our short walks when it is to cold to go downtown. When we found out about the Tot spot we began to try to use it. The girl there during the week is so pleasant and understanding as our son was to scared the first few times (tho the lady on Sunday watched us sit on the bench waiting for the person running it to come back. As it had the sign "we are open be right back" after 20min an elderly lady who was right there chatting with another employee heard me say "I wonder when they will be back its been 20 minutes" then she walked over to the sign and took it down. I was NOT impressed with her lack of customer assistance.....) I love salad bars and this one goes above and beyond with the hot food as well. The selection of lettuce is great for our Pet Tortoise and the bakery is a must stop for hubby as you always seem to have Pumpkin pie. Tho the prices may be a tad high we still shop there for the customer assistance (except that one elderly lady running the Tot spot on sunday) and how clean and bright the store is. Will continue to use this store...
Read moreFestival always rates 5⭐️ for Customer Service. Very helpful, and you can always find a smiling worker for assistance. However, the prices don't justify the excellent customer service. The pricing is ridiculous. I've always been a huge proponent of Festival and never thought I'd write a scathing review until I decided the other day(Sunday, 5/19) to turn left @ Losey, instead of going to Festival, and head to Onalaska. Using the Festival App, I went thru a different store (W) and bought the same items. $60.65 vs. $93.50. That's a big difference. Today, Tuesday 5/21, I went for fresh fruits & vegetables, frozen fruit, and ground turkey. Same items.. (30 items) $36.20 vs. $72.04. This is just 2 of my 4 recent comparisons, and they are all similar. I never realized how much of a pricing discrepancy there is. That's my bad for not being an informed consumer. With Aldi's moving into the South Side, maybe that helps with...
