After reading all the positive reviews I decided to order pizza from South Lanes. I am so sorry I did! I placed my order online at 4:14 pm and asked that it be left at front door. I received a message saying expected delivery is 5:04pm. At 5:30 I hadn't heard my doorbell so I called to ask when it would be delivered and was told it was just being delivered now. Actually, the delivery person managed to set it off to the side of my porch and avoided my camera. It turns out the pizza must have been outside for a while because it was very cold. I opened the box and it was a cheese pizza, I ordered a pizza with four toppings. I called South Lanes back and was told that no I had ordered and payed for a cheese pizza according to the receipt he has. I double checked my receipt that was sent to my phone and explained that I was charged according to what I had ordered-a large pizza with four toppings. He continued to argue this with me, so I told him fine I just won't order from them again. In a condescending manner he asked what I had wanted. I told him I wanted what I had ordered and in fact payed for. He said fine, but it would be an hour. No problem I waited the hour. This time I watched my camera waiting for the delivery. I saw the person very aggressively pull into my driveway, stomp up to my door and very angrily ring my doorbell. When my daughter answered the door he demanded to see a copy of my receipt. I know very little about technology and somehow lost the receipt when I pulled it up while on the phone with the worker. He looked me right in the eyes and asked if he was just supposed to trust me. I then said I don't know and if it's that much trouble to take the pizza back. This time he said asked if I expected him to just take my word for it. I told him I am 59 years old, and I don't need to lie to get a pizza, at which point he just walked away. I have not ever been called a liar by a someone I was doing business with. So, ultimately, #1 I still had the wrong pizza. #2 He wasted the ingredients, time and labor to make the correct pizza and personally drive it to my home just to take it back with him after calling me a liar. There are so many ways this could have been resolved and the worst possible way is the way he handled it. This town is full of pizza choices, and I made a very bad one tonight. As far as the cold cheese pizza I ended up with it was very ordinary. I say to anyone who thinks this place is good should try TJo's, Pizza King or Big Al's Too, they are outstanding, and I have never had bad service from any of them. For those that do order from this business, I hope your orders are always correct because if a mistake happens it's the customer who bares the...
Read moreNotice the time order was placed on receipt 4:53 the time we received pizza 6:40. Notice the size on receipt for drinks on receipt look what size I got an 8oz drink. The cashier person kept asking if the order was paid for about 3 times. By the 4time he said they just made it and are just now putting it in the oven. If there is a ticket to the order he should of 1 looked at it or 2 talked to someone who would know instead of implying we didn’t pay for it. We both waited in our car for the pizza. We do not go out much for restaurant food because of covid. When we got the pizza there was a permanent marker in our pizza box. For us a 28.00 pizza is something we do not get often. Instead of customer service to make the wait easier it was accusing questions of the pizza was it paid for. The pizza itself when we finally got it was hot, crust crispy, the sauce was good, cheese was a little more brown then I liked but not bad. We have 2 pizza places we do like but wanted to try this place. The wait is to long which would of been tolerated if there was acknowledgment of the mistake we probably won’t come back.
In response to the soda comment. The soda was not 16oz. It was a small cup. I was close with my cell phone so there is photo distortion. 2 hours is excessive when waiting for pizza. There was no acknowledgment that the order existed. It cost money to go out and this makes it discouraging. I went to a restaurant on Saturday and I was able to give 5 stars because the food and service was good even having to wait extra. This restaurant gave us free drinks while we waited and explained the issues. We where not forgotten. Your staff...
Read moreThis is my 2nd time having pizza at the "new" location. We had Taco Pizza tonight. Was really good, but it should be cut in pie slices, not squares. The chicken Bacon Ranch was OK the last time I was there. As for the service, it was awful. Both times. 1st time there, there was only 1 girl working & it was busy. So I didn't say anything. This time, there were 2 girls working. We got almost the same treatment each time we visited. 1st time had to ask for a menu, this time got up & got our own menu. People next to us were promptly given a menu. The bartender asked the girls if we were helped, and the girls said no. He came over, took our order & brought our drink glasses. The boy in the kitchen brought out our cheese bread & pizza. We sat there a bit. I got up & got our plates. My son-in-law got up & got us forks. 1st time there, I also had to get up & get our glasses, plates & forks. When we were finished with our pizza, we sat there for a while. Stacked the plates on the pizza pan. The bartender prompted one of the girls to give us our bill. The last time I was there, we waited quite a while to get our bill. Both times we did not tip!! The tip is for service!! I feel sorry for the owner, which I assume was the bartender. All you high school kids reading this, learn how to pay attention to people when you are working at a job that provides customer service. We gave several clues that we were waiting & not being helped. We came all the way from West Salem to eat. We will not be back for quite some time. That's too bad because it...
