My mother, sister and I decided to have lunch here on a whim because we used to go to the downtown location many, many years ago before they closed that location and loved the food there. We ordered the usual coney dog and added cheese. We took one bite and went back to let them know that the hot dogs were cold and hard. The gentlemen argued with me and the lady (we recognized her because she used to work at the downtown location) came over and took the tray and threw it in the garbage aggressively. She then remade the chili dogs while slamming all the utensils and the cover where the buns are kept like a spoiled brat. They don't believe in customer service at all. We have never, ever been treated so poorly at a restaurant before. No apology. The remade chili dogs weren't much better. The food certainly has gone down hill dramatically. To top it off, the lady came from behind the counter and walked past our table saying in front of us and other customers, "I always take the cooked hot dogs, not ones I just put on the grill." She didn't even stop to talk to us, she just walked by and spewed venom. All my sister could say to her was "don't be like that." We just wanted to get out of there as fast as we could because of how unprofessional, rude, and pathetic the staff were. As I read other reviews, this is unfortunately usual behavior on their part. I don't understand how they are still open. Never again will we step foot in this disgusting place of business. I would advise you to...
Read moreLunchtime 5 people in eating, all empty tables had not been washed. All we had to sit at is dirty tables. We ordered a bakers dozen with a bucket of fries to eat some there and take the rest home which I told this to the cashier. The hotdogs had been served on styrofoam tray on a lunch tray & fries in a cardboard bucket separate. The area where the soda & condiments were also hadn't been cleaned in some time like the tables. The 3 employees had been standing around when we walked in, while we ordered, ate & as we were leaving. After done eating we asked for a to go container & we were told we had to pay for it. Which is not a big deal however I told the guy that we would be talking the rest home so if there was a charge for a styrofoam container that would have been the time to tell us & charge us. The female employee that was working had been the one to inform us of the charge, very rudely. I explained that I had told the man as I ordered & paid we would be taking most of it home, again she was very rude about it. Really it wasn't a big deal to pay it however she was very rude to us about it, offered us tissues & a bag. The place was filthy & I told the other employee we were going to take most of it with us. We purchased a styrofoam container packed our food & left. The hotdogs seem to be a lot smaller than they had been (as if they could get smaller) or the bun was bigger & not warm! Not to...
Read moreThe older woman, whom I assume to be the manager, is the most disrespectful and rude employee I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. After witnessing her yell at the customer in front of us because she insisted his order was correct but wasn't, I should have left immediately. After having our order taken for 5 minutes due to a new employee we went and waited for our food, which ended up not including cheese. After informing the woman working there, she told us it was in fact our fault that we didn't notice when the employee ringing us up repeated our order. The employee was brand new, still training, and never said a word about our order. We told her this and she insisted we had to go pay for the additional cheese, until one of the other employees that was clearly embarrassed gave us the cheese for free and told his boss he would pay for it. We spent the next 5 minutes listening to the manager badmouth her employee that gave us cheese tell him that he shouldn't do that, "they didn't pay for cheese, it's not free". To the gentleman that bought us cheese that we ordered to begin with, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with such a terrible example of customer service and management. Just take a look around before you eat and you'll get a clear idea of the way this woman runs this Coney Island. No wonder they can't stay open with managers like her, AVOID...
