While the store offers great prices and supports a meaningful cause, my experiences have been inconsistent. On one visit, an elderly man with a cane arrived shortly before closing, requesting a quick five minutes to shop. Instead of accommodating, a staff member responded aggressively, nearly shouting that he didn’t have five minutes—even though it was still ten minutes before closing.
When I called to ask about making a donation, I was advised to come on Tuesday. However, upon arrival, I found the donations line closed. Staff explained that they were too short-staffed to help that day and asked me to return another time. More recently, I called ahead to confirm donations would be accepted until 2 p.m. I arrived at 1:23 p.m. to start unloading, only to overhear a staff member announce they were shutting down early. This inconsistency is incredibly frustrating, especially for those genuinely wanting to support this organization over alternatives like Goodwill.
While I do recommend shopping here and support the mission, donation hours should be more reliable. My elderly mother has also experienced this, having driven to donate only to find the line unexpectedly closed. A self-drop-off option with security cameras could help ensure convenience and safety.
