Iron Physique Gym — Local services in La Crosse

Whenever I'm out of town I look for a place to lift. Through the years I've found some decent places. Some have great free weights and equipment. Some have a variety of cool cardio equipment. Some have had the "Gym" atmosphere I look for, meaning it sounds like a gym with weights hitting and lifters pushing out those extra few reps. This is the FIRST place I've been to that has IT ALL! You walk in and you know your in a place where they appreciate the work and effort that go into building real muscle. I have never seen as large a variety of equipment! I've been lifting for 32 years and have a BS in exercise physiology and I have seen equipment here I've never seen before!! Do yourself a HUGE favor come here to workout!! If you like listening to vulgar gangster rap where every other word is the N word or the F word that is played so loud that it overpowers your headphones then you will probably enjoy this gym. The locker rooms are small, dirty and every locker either has a lock on it or has a pile of dirty gym clothes in it so you have to either put your stuff on top of the lockers unsecured, on the floor or in your gym bag and carry it with you while you workout. People bring their dogs and let them run around the gym while you’re trying to lift. Parking sucks during peak times. -This gym is WAAY too hot..they hardly run the A/C...instead they have 10 fans on just blowing around hot air..I’m all for sweating but this is just so uncomfortable..couldn’t even focus on my workout. -People bring their dogs into the gym and they sit there and bark..absolutely ridiculous...a GYM is NOT a place for your dog...go to the damn dog park. -I like the equipment, but I can’t believe the gym owners run it like this...plenty of other local gyms with proper A/C and rules/regulations in place to keep their customers...
