I have been here twice now and both times I had great success looking for some unusual ingredients that I needed to create a new recipe that I wanted to create. I am so happy that I did. I found so many things that I have wanted but couldn't find locally. They had a sale on some red seedless grapes that where really sweet (instead of the sour one's that I usually find). I picked up some super sweet corn also. Before I left, I was feeling hungry from not eating before I left my place and I need to eat more than usual because of conditions beyond my control. So I ordered a breakfast burrito at the little deli they have in the store, it was great. Just what I needed to satisfy my hunger. You can order all kinds of foods here. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would like to try a few more items that you might not find elsewhere. I would also like to recommend this place to everyone. You do not have to be a member to enjoy the benefits that this place has to offer, although I think I will be joining soon in the future. Thanks People's...
Read moreHonestly, this has been our store for years, but they need serious help. The bakery is usually a mess. It doesn't seem like they have anyone driving the train or anyone who can get individuals making products to care about quality.
Deli meat and cheese have been either out of stock or close to expiration on wanted products. (This pretty much applies to everything, not just one section of the store)
Prices are higher with lower product quality.
It just seems like the demeanor/atmosphere of this store has changed. Staff seems stressed and like they don't have enough help, and it looks like a lot of people who are making the product no longer care like they did before. One, two, this being the third time I'd hope to have my mind changed, hoping it was an off day, but unfortunately, no.
With Aldi giving more competitive pricing for the same products generally and Festival having the selection, we just don't need to spend our money here anymore.
Whoever is running this store needs to get a clue before...
Read moreI so miss the People's Food Coop! It is the first place I go before I go to my place. I get my groceries for the weekend or week. There is always a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, some of the best tomatoes and root vegetables I don't see at big box groceries stores like parsnips and celeriac and wonderfully fresh greens. I have my usual items: Organic Valley cream, Wonderstate coffee, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, shallots, basil, pizza/spaghetti sauce, chocolate, Vouvray wine, a selection of cheeses, a New Glarus beer. I always find something new: a cheese, wine, chocolate, or maybe beer.
When I come back to visit a week or longer in the summers, I try to make it here on a Friday at about 5 p.m. I go to the Cameron Farmer's Market get some fresh veggies, listen to some music, then I go to the Coop and get a rotisserie chicken, fruit, cheeses, and fill out the rest of my menu. I always see someone I know and catch up with them in the aisles!
Thank you for this wonderful place to feed...
