Martin’s General Store — Local services in La Junta

Actually, I don't know what to say except that it's a mixed bag. I agree with the other comments, the positive and the negative ones.on the good side, the store seems more organized and cleaner that when I first went in there around2 years ago. Also, I can also find some kind of bargain in their vintage and antiques especially in the section that I collect and resell in. I agree with the comments about the appliances. These used items come with very little warranty, apparently. They don't seem to stand behind them. The other issue I have is that I see the same items from two years ago, and I have a feeling they have been there years longer. They are the same prices they were years ago. And they are still there. You'd think you'd want to sell them. I don't think there's anything worse than a store such as this without a constant turn over of at least some of their items to keep people's interest. I'm one of the lucky ones because the items I'm interested in, both as a collector and reseller, no one else is interested in here in the valley. That said, one of the workers there is real hard arse when it comes to prices, when others understand that that it's important to keep merchandise moving and is willing to give me a good deal . It's those employees that keep me coming back once a month or so, depending on when I'm in town. All in all, I like the store a lot but it has a Longway to go before it...

Many items-- Old & New... I like the choice of the old tools-- Lots of Antiques .. VERY friendly staff... They do not carry gasoline-powered turtleneck sweaters but,they usually have LOTS of other items--Large & small... I bought a couple of non-working weed eaters,for parts(for 20 bucks)-- BOTH units were an easy fix!!! If you are looking for a special item,just call ahead-- If they don't have it,more stuff will...
