The Barista — Restaurant in La Junta

When we first moved here, we searched for a local coffee shop. We found The Barista. From family and friends they didn't have much positive things to say about, but we wanted to see for ourselves. We are coffee conisueruers ☕🩷 This is when they were next to the bank. Atmosphere was okay. Our first Barista was Grace, and she was Amazing!! She definitely knows her coffee and is so very friendly! Since we enjoyed our first visit we became regulars. On a few occasions we had a few other Baristas.. Brandy was always very nice.. but one was and still is the biggest snatch I have come across. Yes, snatch!!! Her name is Hailey. She was so incredibly rude when they had the Barista by the bank and unfortunately is still RUDE!!! I don't understand why they still have her as an employee. The new spot is so nice, the food is Amazing and Grace is still wonderful!! But Hailey puts a nasty taste in that place. I don't know maybe she is only rude to only certain people? But she has always been VERY RUDE to myself and my kids. And we go in there often, in fact we try to go in when she isn't working, but that doesn't always happen. I know nothing will be done, it seems to be a pattern in this town. We are actually moving out of state. Perhaps your experience with Hailey will be different, but I still think keeping a employee who is deliberately rude to your regular customers who spend $40-50 each time.. should be Fired. Great food and nice staff, but no option for ordering ahead for carry out. Placed my order at 11:40 so I could pick it up at lunch. When I arrived to pick it up, there were three people in line in front of me who placed their orders in person. All 3 of them got their food before me, even though I placed my order first. They did not even start making my sandwich until I got there, and by the time I got it my lunch hour was nearly half...

Small vegan options but the 2 ladies working (one is vegan) were super helpful and attentive to our needs. 😇The place is inviting, cozy, clean and enjoyable. The atmosphere is so nice.
