rude staff. as i saw in 2 other reviews mentioning the staff being discriminating, this is more than true. someone close to me went recently and recounted what happened, and i was shocked. so, they’ll cater to young skinny white ladies, and no one else. if you’re not young, skinny, or white, you won’t get the same treatment. you’ll get treated like trash, like nothing, ignored, and be left with a bitter taste in your mouth.
i just don’t get it. why discriminate against your own customers? don’t you WANT business? this attitude, like the other review said, gives “mean girl” energy. well, you can’t operate a business being rude to those not “exclusive” enough. that’s how you lose customers but they don’t care so honestly, if you’re not white, young, or skinny, don’t go here because it will not be a pleasant experience. save your money and go literally anywhere else.
also i heard that the owner and her daughter are BOTH rude. like mother like daughter i guess. discriminating against a mexican woman despite being mexican themselves! who do they think they are?!
we used to go here from time to time but now we wont anymore because it’s obvious we’re unwanted, so we’ll take our money and spend it somewhere else, thanks 🙄
don’t support this business, save ur money and go literally...
Read moreSara's is a wonderful boutique in the heart of downtown La Mesa. (I love downtown La Mesa!) I have been a patron of Sara's Selections for as long as they've been there...10+ years? They have always had the most unique, colourful, and trendy collections and then colourful classic pieces for me. I am not trendy. ;-) On Wednesday, my mom and I went to lunch and a walkabout and of course had to stop in Sara's. We hadn't been inside in a year or so. I loved walking in and seeing the treasure trove of pieces that caught my immediate attention. The prices on everything are moderate. They haven't raised their prices much over the years which is amazing. I couldn't help myself, Kassandra, Sara's daughter, was assisting us and the other patrons in the shop. She was lovely! She somehow knew without me saying or mentioning or even touching that I am a pantsuit girl. She brought me two and I was sold...hook, line, and sinker! I tried on both that she brought to me and they fit like a glove. The styles and patterns were different between the two and not something I've seen in any other store which is one of the many things that makes Sara's such a gem. Thank you, Sara's (and Kassandra), for making downtown La Mesa that much...
Read moreThere is always something in the window that I like and have discovered quite a few brands in this store. But as a size 14, there is nearly nothing that fits me. They carry up to L, but it’s on the smaller size. I’ll sometimes get accessories or shoes. So why 2 stars? This place gives mean girl vibes. I’ve gone in when there’s two people working with one other customer and the other person gets a full personal shopping experience while I don’t even get a hello. I will stand in front of the dressing room with items in hand and an associate a few feet away and will not be asked if I need help. I will approach the counter and ask for help and associates will be chatting and laughing about going out like I wasn’t even there. Not sure why I get ignored when I ask for help — is it my size? Do they take one look at me and know there’s not much they can sell to me? Genuinely perplexed — but I get the general feeling that the sales associates don’t want to help me and it gives a tense atmosphere. I’ll still support because it’s one of the few clothing stores in the area, but it’s...
