My computer broke, and after some troubleshooting I realized the hard drive was faulty. I brought it in to get fixed, only to have one of the reps assure me "it was probably the OS" after talking with him, it seemed as though he knew what he was talking about, so I went along with it. I needed my computer for school so I opted for the 50 dollar priority fee. After 7 hours, and 3 updates, I get some awesome information- it's the hard drive. And not only that, they want to charge over 500 dollars (including a military discount) to swap out an their insanely marked-up m.2 (that takes 5 minutes to do) and install an OS (which also takes 5 minutes to do) I said I would be picking up my computer since those prices are outrageous. This store is robbing people by charging 229 dollars for a Windows install.
Upon returning to the store, I was told I needed to pay the 50 dollars since the tech "looked at it" even though I had told him what the problem was when I entered, and he spent 7 hours telling me something I already knew. I ended up going to best buy and spending 130 dollars on a new m.2 and installed it within minutes and used my usb flashdrive to reinstall windows. All of which took me 20 minutes and less than 150 dollars, compared to the 50 dollars Tech 2U charged for absolutely nothing, and 7 hours of "looking at it"
This is extremely unprofessional, and the tech seriously made this shop look like a bunch of amateurs. Maybe I went in on a bad day since there are mostly good reviews, but I was at a loss for words when I diagnosed the issue and brought in the computer so it can get fixed while I was at work, and was going to be getting charged 500 dollars plus for 20 minutes of work, including 50 dollars and 7 hours of "looking at it"
Will not go back to this place. Their mark-up and prices for simple work is nothing short of insane, and are taking advantage of people who don't know much...
Read moreWe used to go to Bullseye but it was sold to Tech 2U. I needed to know why my cabinet design program was suddenly not able to display all functions. I told Ian the only change had been an upgrade to Windows 10. Realizing that, I had attempted to revert back to Windows 7 but was not able to. So the estimate was $189 to have Windows 7 put back on and if that didn't fix it, then I needed them to figure out what to do. A lot of money I thought but I needed this done and Bulleseye had recommended them. I now know that was simply a term of selling their business to them.
Ian called me and said it was all ready to go. Only when I got down there, he'd installed Windows 10 and never bothered to look at my program. Oddly enough it was not fixed. That's sarcasm!
Three days later, he called and said he figured it out. This time he had installed Windows 7, but my program was not fixed. To which he said, "Just use this button here, and see, the graphics are fine." Except they weren't. When I explained this to him he just said he didn't know. "Maybe its the GPU." Isn't that why I pay you; to figure these things out.
"Well sorry I couldn't fix it." Then he told me my bill was almost $400. What!? "Well we added memory like you asked. That program will work much faster now."
"Why would I have you add memory to a computer that can't display my program correctly?" I asked. I had him remove the extra memory.
But still, I paid $189 for him to not do it right the first time, then install Windows 7, but not be able to figure out how to fix my program. He never checked the graphics card. So basically I paid to have Windows 7 installed.

Read moreI called my local TECH 2 You for help in that I was unable to send or receive any emails. The local contact understood the situation and problem and said that I would be contacted by phone for needed assistance. The phone call came Dimitri was the tech that I had the pleasure with which to work. I explained my situation and he asked for permission from me to give him control of my computer. Once done, he said her would work on the problem from his end. Later, he called back and said that he had discovered the problem which was mainly an AT&T problem. He was able to get it straightened out and put my computer back to 100% operation. He explain the problems he had encountered and they were in terms I could understand. He also recommended a change in my security system and I agreed to do and feel it was an excellent recommendation. Dimitri is a true professional and an outstanding representation for TECH 2 You. I have since told others of my problem and the wonderful work of Dimitri and TECH 2 You which he represents. I strongly recommend those having computer problems that they can't figure out or solve to contact TECH 2 You and I feel that they will be as pleased with the results as I. Also, I felt the charge for the service, getting my computer back to sending and receiving emails, was very reasonable. My thanks goes out to Dimitri who should certainly be the employee of the...
