New York New York Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in La Mesa

We used to love this place. The food quality and portions have drastically gotten worse over the last couple of times we have ordered here. We still kept giving it another shot because we originally really liked it. The food is consistently cold and takes a very long time to arrive. Items are always missing. If you try to call a resolve anything the customer service is extremely poor. Tonight was last try, and sadly we won’t be ordering here anymore. They did not give us our meatballs with our spaghetti or the orange soda we ordered and we called to see if they would be able to send someone out to drop off the items. They accused us of lying about it and said they can make us another spaghetti with ONE meatball and I can pick it up but that’s the best he can do. I said I paid for orange soda and a side order of meatballs and He said he knows for a fact he put meatballs in the spaghetti. Although I've ordered from here in the past, this was my first visit in store. I had actually taken my family out for the day and stopped in at a different pizza shop a few minutes earlier. After waiting 5 minutes at the other pizza shop without being greeted or acknowledged by staff, I walked out and drove a couple minutes down the road to find New York New York. I was immediately welcomed by a staff member who was visibly in the middle of making pizzas, and another staff member helped take my order. They both helped put together my order to get me the best deal possible, even going so far as to offer me a customer discount. I ordered the veggie pizza and the family loved it. We have ordered food from here well over a dozen times & every time the food has been fantastic. We ordered our usual chicken pizza but were unsure whether our order was wrong due the protein looking like pork sausage. The man we spoke to on the phone was very kind when we stated our confusion & told us to come in to replace pizza & bring our pizza back in as we did not eat any of it. Turns out they put fried chicken on it. (Great idea!) We didn’t realize what this was until after the fact. He gave us a new pizza & told us to keep the original one. That was very generous, thank you! We have been to many different pizza places in La Mesa area but this is by far our favorite....
