Big shout out to Duke Montross for holding a truck for me for what seemed like forever, while my bank cleared my inheritance checks. He is very understanding and worked with me during all the troubles I went through to get the payment for the first vehicle I have ever owned!! Very well done, Duke!! UPDATE, after the truck was delivered to me!!! Be very careful when purchasing from this company!!! I have nothing bad to say about the company itself but the person I bought this truck from!! He didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground about building transmissions OR electrical work!!! The transmission failed. It wouldn't engage to go forward and wouldn't go in reverse and had to be rebuilt. The truck started over heating because the fan failed, had to buy a new one. The taillights on both sides were screwed up and didn't work right. The left turn signal light on the dash panel didn't work correctly. When you turned left and start going strait, the left turn signal light would stay on. I had to have ALL the electrical redone. The right side door wasn't adjusted right, it would drop down when you open the door. The drivers side door weather stripping was loose. The owner used the wrong type of glue for it. The right side parking light in the hood never worked from the moment the truck was delivered to me. The horn didn't work correctly, it would just go off on it's own!! And finally, the steering column in the truck was nothing but aftermarket garbage!!! The shifter pin in the column kept coming out and the shifter knob would just dangle in mid-air!!! Awesome experience with an amazing selection of classic vehicles for about any budget. Purchase was smooth and professional. Staff extremely helpful, friendly, and receptive to feedback and questions. On this particular visit Duke Montross, our sales representative, was all of the above and more. He worked with us very well both professionally and in general automotive banter which to a couple of old gear-heads was very welcome and appreciated. He didn’t have the attitude that you would find in “high end” dealership although he deals in their high end rides. If you haven’t checked these guys out - do. If they don’t have what you’re after they can probably get it from one of their many locations or it’s just not reasonably available. Prices are fair against the market and not blown way up with markup like some other similar places we’ve looked at. Just compare apples to apples and you’ll find that out really quick. Just because a particular example is priced way more at one place versus Streetside doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting that much more of a value. Just because it’s more expensive doesn’t mean it’s always a better choice. The Barrett Jackson effect shouldn’t play a deciding making role in any purchase. If you need a bad ride or just want to check out the showroom and warehouse (which is quite impressive), give Duke a call and he’ll take care of you, no problem. My entire process from initial contact with John in Nashville, to vehicle delivery to my home in San Diego, CA was TWO WEEKS!
