So as some of you know... I eat ar a lot of Mexican restaurants. And so far I have had a favorite in Tuscola Illinois. But tonight I have to say I've just crowned a new number one in my book. This place is THEE one that tops my list without a doubt. Let's start with chips and salsa. That's a big deal for me and they have the absolute best. They make their own salsa and it's outstanding! They also make their own tamales and I was in love with those too. All the food has such explosive flavors. I also ordered the fajita burrito and the fajita con chili I believe it was. Wow. Amazing and I am stuffed. If I'm ever in the area again I'm stopping here for sure. The people were very courteous and quick for that matter. I did mine as takeout since I eat in my truck. I waited maybe 10 minutes. The place is a wonderful atmosphere with seating outside too. I want to give them a 6th star. You won't be disappointed at all.
FYI... I've been to probably over 2 hundred Mexican restaurants in the last 12 years. I'm excited to write a review for this one. I spent about 34 dollars. 😁

I always got my food to go. The food is decent (except for the carnitas) but the proportions are bad. I got the same size containers I would get from most Mexican restaurants, but the containers were reversed. Here, the big container had the "salad" (beans, rice, sour cream, guac, pico) and the little container is what had the fajitas meat/veggies in it. I paid the same price I would anywhere else but got far less of the actual fajitas. We tried it 3 times and just couldn't get past getting so much less actual fajitas for the same price. Plus my husband's favorite is the carnitas and they were always too salty with the meat quality only fair. It's a shame because it was...

I'm Hispanic and lived in the Lavergne area for over 11 years, never found a true authentic Mexican rst except this place called el arroyo (which was sadly taken down couple years back). Margarita house uses canned beans, and not to sound pretentious but I know the difference between real homemade Mexican Beans and canned. Still it is fairly decent food, when they first opened the food was fresh and the staff were attentive and nice and now you'd be lucky to get anything fresh and have to flag someone down to get something. Fairly decent place but authentic, no. Some people love canned beans, so to each their own. Margaritas sometimes would be watery, but I stick with a good cold beer (at least...
