Located in the small town of La Verkin, it happened to be the closest supermarket at the house we were staying at when we road tripped to Utah. I was unfamiliar with this store since I was actually looking for a Vons or Albertsons (but none seemed to exist within traveling distance).
It's well kept and has all the nice departments like their own sandwich making place, a whole separate section dedicated to outdoors stuff like a merge between Home Depot and a supermarket, LOL, as well as a walk-in section for beers and alcohol, which I thought was super cool. I think it's because it's in a small town that everyone also knew everyone (by name). The staff was really friendly and made small talk to the locals like they knew each other very well and stuff. It felt very family-like. They also have their own gas station out front too. They've almost seem like they've got it all!
Had a great time shopping here the week me and my friends were in town and will remember this market as an option the next time I'm around...
Read moreDespite the name no connection. Out of town. TBS, you can always tell if there are real souls behind a business. Sure a business has to make money, but there are always slight details if a business has soul behind it that can't be faked. I think in this case they take grocery seriously. You can feel that whoever is behind it wants to make sure people are fed. A business and a responsibility. I was working a job there and thought it was pretty cool that I could get a hotdog and a drink for $2. Sometimes that is what I had. Other details about the place made me think well about it. I also have the same opinion of Carter's market in Enterprise UT. Reasonably priced. Community stores. I would normally give a 4 star for a good business. The extra star is a soul token, for the first or secondary intent. Beyond business. Plain to see it also serves the...
Read moreMy experience 99% of the time when I try to get service and order deli meats and cheese at the deli counter has been a total failure. Employees look away, duck and run, or move to the other side of the dept to the hot foods. If I have been lucky enough to talk to someone, it is more than pulling teeth. And apparently employees either are NOT trained or do not like their job. They do not seem to want to work as a team or respect each other. At this point, I'm not too sure why Davis doesn't close the deli (even thought they have good meats and cheeses as well as sandwiches). There are more than just me trying to work with deli employees. Many tourists as well as locals have walked away from that department disappointed and without...
