Long post incoming:
Yesterday we had our first beach day of vacation. As long as I’ve seen my dad, he’s worn his gold chain with two pendants, the immaculate conception and head of Christ. It’s hung around his neck for 50 years and was given to him by my grandmother. We spent hours enjoying the beach before the annual LBI Lifeguard Races began and hundreds of people gathered over the area where we were sitting. It had to be around 6 pm when my dad realized his chain was missing from the side compartment of his beach chair. We looked and looked but there was so many people it was impossible. I swear we all went to sleep with a gloom over us because this chain held so much importance.
The next day, I woke up early to drive back to the beach and look. No luck. After hours of time gone by, countless of Facebook posts- I finally had locals recommend I call Edward Trapper, a NJ ring finder known for his unwavering tenacity and success in finding lost treasures. In less than 20 minutes, I drove down to the beach to meet Ed and his wife. Ed was eager to hear the background history of this chain, and the story it held. For 45 minutes, he scoured the beach, meticulously covering every single inch of sand. He went above and beyond, but the chain was nowhere to be found. We decided to call it quits. While walking up the ramp and off the beach, he turns to me and says, “what are the odds it’s up here on the ramp somewhere? Let me try one last time. I’d hate to leave without finding it.” Slowly, he walked down the ramp, the metal detector sweeping back and forth. Out of no where- 3/4 a way down the ramp the machine beeped, a clear, strong signal. He pushed in his scooper, sifting through the sand, and there it was—my father's gold chain buried by the side of the dune. When I tell you we both screamed in joy… I was absolutely speechless. Ed, I am so thankful for you and how generous you are. You truly have made this a story I will never forget! Your hard work and dedication...
Read moreAfter being reunited with my ring, I can’t thank Edward for coming out on such late notice. My Fiancée and I had decided to go to Point Pleasant beach a little after 3 p.m. We spent the whole night at the beach, and hadn’t noticed my ring was misplaced until 9 p.m. We drove home, which was an hour away, feeling hopeless. We decided to do some research and came across Ed’s page and messaged him immediately. We reached out at 12:30 a.m, and to our surprise he was up! Despite having to be at work that same morning, he took the drive and went to work. We met with him and within minutes he was able to locate the ring; CRAZY! He was compassionate and patient, but above all he was certain he could help us! Edward is an amazing person who is definitely skilled, but genuinely enjoys helping people out of the kindness of his heart. He could have declined given such late notice and being that he needed to work in 3 hrs, but he did everything he could to help us. I can’t thank him enough. I’ve been hysterically crying, this is a miracle. THANK...
Read moreIF YOU LOST YOUR JEWELRY IN THE OCEAN, NOTE THE LOCATION AND CALL THE NJ RING FINDER. This afternoon I had the horrible experience of losing my Cartier ring. I felt completely hopeless. Every second it wasn’t on my hand felt like an eternity. I thought for sure it got carried out to sea, or buried amongst the sand, shells, & rocks beneath the dark water. I was wrong. ED FOUND IT. He wasted no time getting on the road to my location, then right in the water to find my ring. His calm, kind demeanor and reassuring words were a great comfort during my most distressing time. He meticulously scanned the area, demonstrating precision and patience. Despite the conditions-rolling waves, sand shifts, biting green heads, my dog weaving around him (we were at the dog beach) and the sheer vastness of the ocean-Ed remained undeterred. He methodically covered every possible location, and rechecked spots to ensure nothing was missed. I hope you don’t lose your ring, but if you do, call The NJ...
