I’ve been going to this store since I was a child. The employees were always super friendly and the owner was usually there to greet, help and thank everyone. Recently, things have changed. The employees in the deli are RUDE and combative with the customers and each other. The owner that was the heart and soul of the place is no longer there and the other two are awful. When I told them about repeated bad experiences with deli workers one snapped and me and said “Do YOU know anyone else we can hire?”. I was shocked. If the owner would have apologized for my experience and then explained the problem with finding good workers, I would have understood. Instead he was just as rude as the employees I was complaining about. This was once a Northside gem but not anymore. Unless you want to be subjected to rude, insulting employees and owners stay away from this place. It’s no longer the Breaux’s Mart we knew and...

Read moreIncredible store family owned. they are peoples people.. and being a big family that have all worked in this Mom and pop turned to midsize supermarket that still has his own butcher today. one of my favorite places to shop not only for the groceries but also incredible, home-cooked plate lunches, chicken salad ,tuna salad, and varieties thereof. But most importantly the staff and owners own first name basis for everyone that walk across their threshold and will take the time to greet and hold some simulation of our conversation in the warmest of ways the only downside for me and others in the area I just heard that they were selling the place in about a year. But I remain optimistic because I hear it's another family run operation buying them out. And knowing the breaux's as well as I know them. I trust they would not sell their family love business to...
