Telly`s Place LLC — Restaurant in Lafayette

When I decide to choose a place to eat, shop, or in general spend my money I always look at the reviews for the business I plan on visiting... The reviews for this establishment are very alarming... 03/12/23, we decided on Sunday barbecue for dinner, and we decided to take pardon at Telly's in Lafayette on Moss St, even though the reviews were very low, we chose it anyway to see if they were honest reviews for a restaurant... Parking, was amazing, but when I entered the building Telly's, I exhale with appreciation for the decor (gorgeous)... My hostess/server was Hailee, she was polite and professional; very informative about the menu... Now a drum roll, the food was to die for, delicious and seasoned to perfection... I had the turkey wing with potato salad and homemade mac & cheese... The wing, tinder and seasoned to the bone, potato salad just like my grandmother made amazing and the mac & cheese, creamy and moist (not hard and stiff)... I hope these pictures do it justice, thank me later... p.s the price is correct for...

I stopped by today and had the smothered okra, mac & cheese, turkey wing, and potato salad. The turkey wing and potato salad were both really good, well-seasoned and flavorful. The mac & cheese was very cheesy and rich maybe a bit too heavy for me, but some folks might enjoy it that way.

The smothered okra had a VERY strong tangy, vinegar-like taste and was extremely spicy. If that flavor came from vinegar, I’d really recommend cutting back a bit, it completely took over the dish way too much.

I also waited about 20–25 minutes for my plate, which was surprising for a plate lunch spot. Hopefully just a rare delay.

Lastly, I was a little shocked that a bottle of water was almost $3. I understand prices have gone up, but that’s nearly the cost of a whole case of water on sale. That felt excessive.

My second time eating here. The first time I had the ox tail which was awesome and also my first time having oxtail. . This time me and my husband ate, he had the fried fish and crawfish etouffe and I had the fried fish with half n half etouffe and crawfish Mac and wow it was all soooo delish.. Let me just say I have had crawfish etouffe at many places round Lafayette and it’s all catered to tourist with no spice and some lighter gravy. Well I’m a Cajun honey and I stopped eating etouffee out and just cooked it home but this place knows flavor. Me and my husband enjoyed every bite.

On the pricier side but is certainly not over priced, totally worth the price , They load your plate up and you enjoy every bite. YUMM. Thanks Telly’s place. You got it going on for sure and we will certainly be back and tell...
