*Terrible Service! I spoke with a lady ( in the store) last week, regarding ordering seafood boudin. I was told that they only had it frozen at this time of year, but if I called it in 45 minutes ahead, they would have it warmed and ready to go. This morning, as she instructed , I called to request the seafood boudin already expecting to allow for the extra 45 minutes which would be necessary. The girl I spoke with by phone, argued that that kind of boudin was not available. I then spoke to her manager who agreed to warm the boudin for my order, but it would take an hour and a half before it was ready. I was not happy with the double time frame, but told her to go ahead and get it ready. And that I’d be there at the necessary time. When I arrived to pick up my order, the girl at the counter, argued with me yet again, stating they had no seafood boudin. She called up her manager, but not the woman manager I had previously spoken with by phone, and had placed my order The man said the woman I had spoken to, had gone home for the day, and there was no order filled for me. This made me angry, justifiably I think. I had waited two hours for a meal, and these people never even filled the order, and they never tried to call me back to notify me that there was any problem. Next the male manager said he would make my order, but I’d have to wait 30 minutes before it would be ready. Unbelievable! After a 2 1/2 hour runaround, I was done waiting.@ I told them to just cancel my order, and that they had lost a customer. Ive never been so terribly treated and disrespected as a customer. Everytime we go to Louisiana, we make a stop at this market. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the food is amazing. We have tried several different items there, but my two favorites so far are their homemade chicken salad and the soft cracklings. The boudin is also great. Had a bbq pork steak plate lunch and really enjoyed it. It was served with baked beans, corn and dirty rice. They have so many fresh cooked options, frozen and refrigerated items. Stuffed chickens, brisket, tenderloin and so much more. I purchased frozen duck and andouille gumbo and crawfish and corn soup, can't wait until my daughter gets home from college so we can try them. We were on vacation this past weekend and stopped by here after seeing them listed on the Boudin Trail. WOW! The staff was so nice. We asked about the cauliflower boudin and the lady let us try a piece. So thoughtful and it was great. We also asked about the chicken cracklins and she let us taste that too. So much better than it sounds. We bought a 1/2 pound to eat that day. We also bought the cauliflower boudin and some smoked pepper jack boudin. This morning I cooked the smoked pepper jack boudin for breakfast and it was fantastic. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Lake Charles.
