Usually had good experiences here with family and regularly ordered meat products. This last time I ordered two full femur bones to pickup for sound effect recording. The sound effects are for the feature film "Beguiled Company" releasing in November. The length and mass of the bone is fairly crucial to the sounds made with them. When I arrived the staff had no idea what I was talking about and acted strangely. After explaining my purpose at the store a couple times and politely waiting a they handed me a bag and I went on my way. Turns out they had not understood what I was there for and sold two much smaller sized "dog bones".
When I called the meat department the next day the man on the phone said the bones "come like that" and then further claimed they arrived to the store pre-cut and there was nothing he could do about the error. The employee was not great at customer service or communicating with different people in general, at least at this time. He pathetically parroted back my words and hung up the phone.
Some of the other employees I interacted with seemed fine and even friendly. This seems like one of those situations where people just doesn't understand what's going on, they get nervous or perceive the situation inaccurately and make a mistake. Uncommon requests and occurrences tend to confuse. This is probably a rare occurrence...
Read moreLong time customer, for more than 20 years. Have spent a lot of money and always had good product. Went and preordered for a party and got the beef home tried it, It was so dry. Couldn’t even eat it. So we returned it all for new stuff the next day. Just as dry. For $90 and $35 for the worst coleslaw I’ve ever had. Had rude customer service. I’ll never be back. All those years, there was not even one time where the beef was dry. We ended up having to use 3 quarts of aus jus to even make it edible and it was still dry.
It was always the best. Not sure what changed in the product but way too expensive to wing it if it’s going to be good or not seeing I was told “there’s good days and bad days” spending $90 isn’t worth risking it for 50/50 and seeing it was two days in a row the same burnt overcooked product seeing odds are less likely to get quality moist beef. I have worked in the food industry and customer service for over 50 years as a manager, I would have handled it differently but not my problem at this point. I’ll take my...
Read moreThis place is very good. I have only ever purchased sandwiches that are made fresh from their deli.
I live about 40 minutes away from Hagberg's. It is the honest truth when I say that anytime I am near this place around lunchtime, I go there.
Their sandwiches are made with high-quality ingredients. Their menu has about 10 different options of sandwiches on it. I have not had a bad one. I am sure the options available would satisfy even the pickiest of sandwich consumers.
Although all of the sandwiches I have tried are great. Prior to covid, they had an option to build your own sandwich from a list of options of: bread, cheese, meat, as well as vegetable toppings. This option was unbelievably good.
In my opinion, I really enjoyed this build your own option, and I was sad when I found out they got rid of it. I do understand that the new limited list of sandwich options really helps keep the line moving. I would be thrilled to see Hagberg's...
