I've been to this ice cream shop twice. First time, they had what we wanted and all was well.
The 2nd time, they didn't "have any cookies & cream out right now". Not quite sure what that meant, but ok. My wife was able to get the ice cream she liked. There was only one problem...there was hairs in the ice cream....she ate the hairy ice cream.....it wasn't her hair. She - obviously disgusted, vomited everywhere.
I was left to herd our 7 kids, while cleaning up blueberry flavored vomit, along with whatever she ate at breakfast.
I'd like to think I'm a reasonable man. I get that sometimes, things happen. As a business owner myself, I always appreciate people bringing issues to my attention so I can resolve them fairly. Thats what you do.
I called Lake Elmo creamery and left a voicemail immediately after, letting them know what happened. No one ever called me back. I gave them over a month to get back to me to make things right. They didn't.
So here I am, forced to leave this negative review. The ice cream is pretty good. But hairy ice cream, unfortunately isn't. Hopefully they can take this opportunity to be better...
Read moreWe’re so excited to have an ice cream spot in downtown Lake Elmo! It’s great to see so many families out enjoying the space. The ice cream was delicious, and the staff was very friendly.

It would feel more welcoming (and environmentally friendly) to offer a water jug with paper cups, especially when serving ice cream to kids on warm days. We also found it odd that they couldn’t fill a reusable water bottle, even though they were able to provide water for a dog dish.
Another challenge was the lack of public restrooms, which hopefully is something the city will consider addressing as the area continues to grow.
Lastly, a bit more kid-friendly seating—like a grassy area with some shade—would make the experience even better.
Looking forward to watching this spot improve and grow! We’ll...
Read moreStopped in at Lake Elmo Creamery in downtown Lake Elmo. First impressions walking up. The front sidewalk was chairs and benches to enjoy some of the best Cedar Crest ice cream from our neighbors in WI. The ice cream is fantastic. I had Black Cherry in a waffle cone, and my wife had Big Muddy. We both loved the ice cream.
The people are really nice. Very friendly. And the atmosphere was really cool. Due to code and the local municipality, the space can not have indoor seating. However, that does not matter on a beautiful sunny evening on their opening day 4-26-2025.
I would highly recommend putting this on your schedule. Really good old fashioned...
