"First time purchase at Bluemercury. Spent $163+ on high-end products (Chantecaille, etc.) and there was a problem that they said would immediately be fixed by a refund to my Visa. That was Sept. 4. They claimed it would appear as a credit in 4-7 days. Today is Sept 17. They kept sending a form response saying there must be a problem with my bank (the Director of Chase Private Client informed me in person that absolutely nothing had been deposited to my account). Then they "pushed my issue up to corporate" and claimed it had been purchased on a holiday (it had not -- Labor Day was Monday Sept 3) and that may have delayed it. All the while they kept denying responsibility and blaming my bank. I gave my material to a local attorney and am letting her pursue this further since I have neither the patience nor the time to deal with this kind of misrepresentation shifting blame. I have informed friends, family and colleagues not to purchase any Bluemercury products...as I will certainly not be doing so. This is more than inefficiency. Nearly every one of their products can be purchased elsewhere with no complications. If you have the slightest glitch, buyer beware! Avoid Bluemercury unless you're prepared to argue with them over the smallest details. Terrible...

Her extensive knowledge of the products and the beauty industry is refreshing when spending the type of investment it takes for some of the products offered.
