This neighborhood playground is definitely a destination playground. The fully enclosed play area features a soft rubber play surface, an artificial turf field (with the Cubs logo befitting it's location close to Wrigley Field and the namesake of the park - Margaret Donahue), several benches, and picnic tables covered by large shade umbrellas. The two play structures are both solid; one is designed for younger children and the other is designed for older children and features cues to famous Chicago skyscrapers at the tops. There is also a large net climbing feature and the normal variety of swings. The standout features of this playground, though, are the water features. There is a three part overhead shower-like sprayer, a misting ring, a few jets coming from a mosaic wall, and an interactive water table. It has several structures for a good range of ages (something like age 1-6), a water area (active in summer), a large lawn area and multiple seating options.
It is well maintained and in a nice quiet neighborhood with a walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops.
Its size and arrangement is perfect for a small and large audience. As a parent you can feel safe as there is only 1 entrance, and it doesn't feel too crowded even with a lot of crowd.

Read moreThis place is SO AWESOME! We've been here a couple times and my kids(6 and 8) have always had a blast! The park is so thoughtfully designed with a splash pad, playground and an open field. My kids love all three parts. Last time they had a water gun fight and ran up and down the playground hiding from each other before deciding to make the open turf area a battlefield!
