By far one of the worst experiences Iâve had at a hotel. If youâre in the hospitality business the goal is be hospitable. When you hire individuals who lack the capacity to be hospitable especially if they carry biases they will cause an adverse situation.
A ratchet receptionist named Zee contacted my room stating that someone made a noise complaint. I was alone and on the phone. I told her nobody was making noise She called again, and I said the exact same thing and hung up. I booked another reservation for the following night and the receptionist zee sent me two consecutive texts. The first text stated if we receive another noise complaint they wonât honor my reservation. The next text she sent was that they are not honoring my reservation. I called and asked her what was going on and said I donât like her attitude. I requested to speak to a supervisor. She continued to talk over then immediately threatened to call the police. She said youâre out and she threatened to call the police. She definitely had bias towards black men. Unbelievable that just requesting to speak to a super triggered her to lie saying I used vulgar language and threatened to call the police. Please fire...
Read moreWon't see me here again. I booked through a work vendor so I must have missed the hour long check-in process instructions email which consists of sending a picture of your face and your ID, etc. to a phone number listed on the door. Once accepted, you get a code so you can go back outside and unlock a lockbox that has the keys to the main door and your room. BUT, the best part is that it takes at least 10 tries before they accept it. The second best part is that it's all through text, to a person (appears automated at first, but then...), who is not very responsive and seems overwhelmed in responding to texts, so you might get a snide remark if you get a little heated and question this process. Luckily, the couple who was also struggling to 'check in' let me inside to do this whole thing inside, otherwise I'd be standing in the rain the entire 30+ minutes it took. Also, there's no staff on site and clearly, anyone standing around the front door can get in as I did. Lastly, the fees. The guest amenity fee tops out at $49.99 + tax (read the website, it's a bunch of fluff that other hotels consider standard). There is a Reservation Fee, and a Reservation Processing Recovery fee. My $125 room ended up...
Read moreloved the location to Wrigley and all the night life! Rooms were clean, bed comfortable but the comforter was small and felt like we were fighting all night for the blanket. Now onto the biggest down fall, no desk clerk, check in a little quirky. Arrived early and wanted to check our bags and head to game, a kind gentleman waiting for his Uber left us into the locked lobby. We had previously texted that we would like to check bags and was told we could. Had to call a number posted several times and finally someone came down and put bags in the housekeeping office. (several others in the same predicament in lobby.) Just a lot of unnecessary wasted a hour of our time . After the game, a clerk was present to finish our check in process. Hopefully they will return to normalcy, because it was a cute smaller hotel and would stay again if there was someone on the property at all times to see to our needs. Then a five star would...
