Ordered UberEATS, Google business profile says it is "a little busy." Maybe this doesn't take into consideration online orders or 3rd party delivery orders? Either way, received half my food. My UberEATS driver asked if this was the whole order because the receipt on the bag says 2 of 2. Was told yes, that's all of it. Ordered a pesto turkey sandwich, two cups of tomato bisque soup, an order of chicken tenders, and a can of diet coke. Received the sandwich and one cup of soup as well as a can of original coke. Not a great first impression. Haven't dined in here before but maybe that's what it would take to get my whole order.

EDIT: I emailed management after I received the reply to this review. I expressed my frustrations with my exceptionally bad luck when ordering food and receiving incorrect/partial orders. There was no mention about how I would obtain a gift card to use at the restaurant. Just that I could call in an order for pickup at the bar or order online via the website. I was imagining that I would give a mailing address or schedule a time to come in to pick up a gift card.

I feel that if I were to walk in, state that I wrote a bad review, and would like to order a comped meal, that there would be a chance my food could be tampered with. I believe I went through this process pretty reasonably and the fact that I would have to bring my bad review to the staff's attention when visiting only opens the door to that possibility. I'm not saying that this is likely at the Butcher's Tap, just that as a consumer this is something I need to remain conscious of.

One other thing to mention - the reply to my review says that this mistake was most likely due to my UberEATS driver being in such a hurry that she grabbed one bag and immediately left, just so she could get to her next order. My driver messaged me multiple times (when it was picked up and in transit). This did not give me the impression that she was...

Ordered wings, burgers , flatbread and drinks! Service was great but the problem came in when it came to the food!!! New to the neighborhood... I've had no problems with any of the restaurants along Southport except for this one! With all the competition that bars and restaurants have in the Lakeview neighborhood I believe you should have your wings narrowed down to a science!!! These wings were horrible !The worst wings I've ever had in my whole life They tasted like they were frozen! Like a hungry man dinner wing and they threw some hot, hot sauce on top of it that was unbearable!!! The burger they did the same thing to the burger! The burger itself was good but they threw some hot sauce that didn't have any flavor no taste nothing!!!! The heat level on the burger was totally unnecessary!!!! And I love spicy I'm Caribbean and I can handle spice but this was ridiculous!!!! The flat bread was not flatbread The bread was thick and doughy and it took up any flavor from the tomato sauce and the toppings that were on the flatbread!!!! The drinks were made nicely our waitress was terrific I could tell she felt bad about our experience I wound up paying almost $100 for food that we really didn't eat and we threw it away! So to be honest service was fine but our experience with the food the burger and the wings and flatbread could have been a lot better for the area that we were in and the competition they have... Lakeview has so many places that have good food they need to step up their game!!! I pushed to go to this place and my husband just wanted to go somewhere else and I persuaded him to go there! I keep hearing... Hah! You messed up on your suggestion!!!! And it doesn't sit...

I had this delivered, so maybe that was my fatal error. But with the high star reviews, I was hopeful. The tater tots, my favorite thing on earth, were overdone & hard as a rock. The chicken strips were also overdone & lukewarm upon arrival. I was trying to eat around the especially crispy parts when to my horror I found a bone. Definitely not prepared for that, almost cracked a tooth & so glad I didn’t give that piece to my niece, as she surely would have choked. I was surprised at the lack of flavor to the strips. The grilled cheese & fries were cold, had to cut the crust off the sandwich, but I could tell that the fries would have been good, had they been hot. The fried pickles were bland & overcooked, also cold. The giant pretzel had so much potential, but was cold & also hard. Hoping I can heat it up-that may be the most redeeming dish. However the ‘beer cheese’ literally tasted like cheese whiz. Also not sure how you can forget to add napkins or utensils to the bag, but added fliers for karaoke & upcoming bar...

[Updated review] Overall: Used to be a go-to stop, but the quality and service have really taken a dive with COVID. The good: The sandwiches are still the bomb, and assumingly so are the other staples such as the cheese curds. Portions are still a "healthy" amount and the prices are decent enough. The not-so-good: The service was downright awful in our last visit. Took 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order, and a good 40 minutes for the food to come out. When it did, the onion rings were heavily salted and had a sorry amount of onion. Might as well have fried air and thrown salt on top. The menu has been cut in at least half with COVID as well, which is really disappointing. The waitress said that they are getting more options soon, but this isn't the butcher's tap you may know and love. Food/drink: 5/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 4/10

Okay, SO pleasantly surprised. We wandered in here after being turned away from a few of the “trendy” Southport spots on a Monday night. The patio was open and we grabbed a couple beers. Our server was actually awesome, giving us recommendations and somehow having a sixth sense as to when we needed him. I *think* from the receipt that his name was Alejandro? After round 2, we realized it was $4 all drafts. What?!?!?!?! I didn’t think this existed in Chicago anymore. We of course ordered a third round and some tenders and fries. Again, surprised as the food was delicious!!! Perfect bar food. HUGE selection of drafts, great patio, great food, great service. We will definitely be back!
