I absolutely love Lakeshore! I’m so glad I found this spot.
PLEASE ignore the low ratings from some people. Folks don’t l understand what it takes to run an enormous club like this while also keeping the prices competitive. I’m sorry … but NOT sorry. With such amazing deals (ie monthly membership price + all that’s included) you are NOT going to find anything better. Go to Midtown and then complain about how much you’re paying there (at least $200 more) and how crowded it is or any other complain. I’ve been there, experienced it. Over it.
Let me explain more … 🎾🏓 TENNIS and racquet sports are at the forefront of this spot. They have amazing courts, great/talented coaches, and tons of opportunities to play. Classes, drop-ins, private lessons, mixers, teams… seriously everything! Huge shout out to Coaches Brian, Pedro, and Kristina! — 🏋🏽♂️🤸🏾♀️ GYM facilities are great. There are multiple floors of equipment and tons of hidden rooms with MORE equipment. Oftentimes, they’re empty! Any gym in Chicago is going to be crowded during peak times (7-9a and 5-7p). They also offer amazing classes, a wide array of them, that are INCLUDED! — 🚿🧹🧼 This is one of the CLEANEST gyms I’ve ever been to. The locker room staff is amazing and every time I’m there, they’re constantly cleaning. Also, the locker room itself has a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. All within the privacy of the locker room. The adult locker rooms also never have kids in them which is a plus. There’s a separate one on the 4th floor for families. — 🍽️🍷 HARVEST is the rooftop restaurant and I’ve had a couple of meals there. They put on some excellent themed dinners, like the 4th of July BBQ which is very affordable! They also have a great menu and carry some good wines and beers. Their cafe on the 2nd floor also has yummy snacks and smoothies and protein shakes that are easy on the go.
Happy to be part of the LSF community. Great vibes and has helped keep me active — I go here and enjoy it so much that I’ve successfully lost 15 pounds! Back to my...
Read moreI booked a birthday party for my daughter because it was hard to find someone who would respond ahead of time. I chose this place out of a few last minute options.
The upside: The party was very nice. The hosts were amazing, friendly, down to earth, and social. I didn't have to do much running around because they did everything for me which is serving the guests, lighting the cake candles, and cutting the cake. It was a nice and cozy atmosphere. The party was expensive but the host gave me an alternative to take the sides away from the choice of pizza which ended up being $150 cheaper. They decorate for you, too.
The downside: the minimum guests allowed was 15 children. I had a hard time finding 15 kids for my daughter and I reached 12 but some people canceled. I still had to pay for the absent people. Which is $40 per child including their pizza fee which is $22 per child. The boxes of pizza were so small and the pizza was mediocre. The cake tasted "different" as one guest said. I tasted it myself and it was ok. You can't bring your food. If you're not a member, you get charged an extra $350.
Overall: the children had fun and enjoyed it. I think the party is expensive to pay the hosts equally but the food didn't make sense with the expensive. I would book again if the...
Read moreBefore covid-19 I thought it was a great place to workout and I really enjoyed it. Since covid-19 they have gone above and beyond. They had frequent communication via email to members updating on what was going on. The emails were very detailed and came out quickly as Chicago progressed through different phases of reopening.
They continue to go beyond what any other facilities have done. They have rearranged much of the weight and cardio equipment to allow for social distancing. The cardio equipment has dividers with suction tubes going to HEPA filters so you can safely do cardio without a mask. The hospitality staff were vigilant before, but now clean every single thing that has been touched.
I am so incredibly thankful Lakeshore is open. They have created many new procedures such as reserving workout areas or the pool to ensure safety of each member. In a dark time it has been a light for me and many others.
In addition, Harvest has been such a beacon during all of this. I loved the food last season with the new chef John Diaz. But this year it is one of the few places I feel safe dining out at. There is plenty of space between tables and all ordering and payment is virtual through the website Tock. Plus the view of the city...
